There has been some interest expressed in the possibility of expanding the divisions to include intermediate divisions (men, women, mixed), and playing on the Canyon course with open and advanced (men, women, mixed) still play on the Meadow Ridge course. Also there has been interest in an advanced masters division. We can consider expanding the divisions if there is enough intermediate & advanced masters teams. If everyone who is planning to play in the event could RSVP with your team participants, and your desired division we could get an better idea if there would be enough teams to make this worth it.

PM me with your deets. :posting:

So this is a Bring Your Own Partner, not a random draw, correct? I will check with my partner...

Let me get this schedule straight...

April 10/11 4 rounds @ Milo in 2 days
April 17/18 3 rounds @ :whistler:'s in 2 days

and THEN I'm supposed to play 2 rounds on the Canyon course the next Saturday?!?! Why is everything grouped so tightly this year? Is the Chick Flick coming up in early May? What's the hurry? Why are the 2 ODDGA events on back-to-back weekends in May? And then in June another back-to-back Milo/:whistler:'s deathmarch. The schedule is insane this year.:bricks:

I am not sure that I can commit to this although dubs is rapidly becoming my favorite format...:pirate:

Why are the 2 ODDGA events on back-to-back weekends in May?

I don't want any confusion about this events. ODDGA is not hosting May 15-16 event(Camp Taloali Fundraiser at Jerry Miller DG course) as it was Nathan Boyes' idea to host the event to help to support Camp Taloali and the deaf youths to enjoy to play on the course during summer camps and etc... I encourage anyone(hearing and deaf) from newbie to pro to play in this event. You don't need to be PDGA member to play this event! :yay:

Thanks for the clarification on these events. I think I understand the difference now. The first is a competition of the ODDGA and the second is a fundraiser for Camp Taloai. I was thrown off by the letters "ODDGA" that start off the May 15-16 event listed on the calendar.:pirate:

It looks like nearly every team playing Adv/Open is an Adv girl with a Pro guy. or Adv/ and Adv. a couple exceptions. My team is an Int guy and an Adv girl. obviously the wrong division for us. my partner is an Adv woman who played Pro once so she could play with Val Jenkins, but did not accept cash. 843 rated. I am 833 rated Int player. Hell I played pro at the first year of Soggys Sats a few years back. does that make me pro too? NO!!!!

If it helps at all, and I doubt it will, but its worth a shot. If we are in the Int mixed division and we win, I will give my winnings to the 2nd place team. I am not trying to say we would win it, I doubt we will, but its better than being forced into the next division up and getting smoked, which we would

Just wondering if the TD's would be open to the idea of playing 2 different formats for each pool such as:

all divisions: 1st round worst shot and 2nd round best shot
or
in the mixed division: 1st round boys shot and 2nd round girls shot
or all divisions: 1st round alternate shot and 2nd round best shot

Since it is doubles, it seems like a good time to make up some fun and unusual rules.

Dion's crazy rules are starting to make sense to me.

The Smooothers are putting up a donation of $20 for the first female ace in either pool and are looking for matched money. Anyone else want to match our donation? We want at least 4 other teams to match our $20.

I would recommend that only best shot be used on the gold course. I don't think we could get two rounds in using alt or worst shot.

Yeah, that'd be a deal breaker for me as well.

Celeste

Yeah we're just going strait up best shot. We want to keep this nice and casual since it's a fundraiser.
Although with Golden arm and his Golden lady possibly making an appearance I see your point.
At Horning's everyone's got a shot.

I think alternate shot would play faster than best anyways and be much more fun for the ladies as they would get a much larger number of their shots used.

The Smooothers are putting up a donation of $20 for the first female ace in either pool and are looking for matched money. Anyone else want to match our donation? We want at least 4 other teams to match our $20.

While i think this is a novel idea... have you ever played the gold course? I do not mean any offense to the ladies, but i highly doubt there will be any aces, and It is extremely doubtful there will be any aces by the men either. It is a monster course with little to no ace potential. so maybe a CTP might be a better way to appropraite your funds. Again just a suggestion~

Don't think this will be much slower than best shot and is a better way to judge a doubles team: no hiding!

Both courses have very ace able opportunities for the ladies. Come on now, let's get some matching funds going on this thing, It is for a good cause. I want to be clear that the money will be going to the Chick Flick not the player as their is already an ace pot for that. I thought this would be a fun way to have the ladies help the ladies.

Thanks Gawain for bumping this.

Keep in mind folks we are new to this, and with having everyone pay day of it might take a bit longer than anticipated. Not to mention there maybe teams that show up who did not RSVP, so we may be getting a little bit of a later start.

Also keep in mind the divisions playing on the Canyon course will finish their round before the divisions playing on the Meadow Ridge, so the Canyon people will have plenty of time to chillax before the 2nd round.

Also Next Adventure kicked in some shcwag for a ring of fire after the 2nd round, so there will be some fun to be had while we are finishing up the score cards & figuring out the payouts.

This is going to be so much fun thanks everyone for all your support and patience with he two rookie TDs.

Mad Props to the Pinkal Coleman freaks of nature in their Mixed Open

Super mad props to Dwalk and George in the INT MIXED for throwing out of their brains.

Ultra Super Mega Mad Props to the TD's for shredding the attendance record at a mixed doubles event and for generally just being awesome.

Can we register for the Timber Doubles in August yet?

We need Fire On the Mountain to sponsor lunch at that one. Coleman, you feel me on that one?

This event was outstanding! Never played mixed doubles - it was really fun! Stoked to hear how much $ was raised, and the Chicken & Peanut Butter Soup w/ Cilantro was awesome! Beatiful weather all day - if you missed it -:nono:

I have my right to voice my opinion whether I sound like an ass or not. Like I said we did have fun besides being mistreated and placed in the wrong division. I always have supported Chick Flick events and always will. it is a great thing for the sport in this area. An ass or not, I love the chick flick events and I doubt they would turn down any support.I have started a new thread in the controversial section regarding this matter. I don't wan to take away from this past weekend's great event.
