View Full Version : Slosh at Trojan - Get on or Get in - March 20
all2common
February 22nd, 2010, 10:36 AM
The fourth installment of the slosh series will be held at Trojan Park on March 20. You can sign up here. (http://www.stumptowndiscgolf.org/store/slosh4) A list of current registrants can be found here. (http://www.pdga.com/tournament-results?TournID=10153)
The schedule will be as follows:
8:00 - 8:45 check in
9:00 players' meeting
9:30 tee round 1
12:30-1:00 lunch (everybody will get an hour to eat, drink and be merry)
1:30 tee round 2 (or as near to as possible)
Awards and disc retrieval following the 2nd round.
The course layout will be slightly tweaked. Regular holes #17 and #18 will be combined to make one hole. We are adding a hole after #18's basket. You will tee from around the corner and shoot about 315 ft. towards that area where people just love to feed the geese white bread.
A map and course notes indicating special o.b. and all that fun stuff will be posted later. Should be a good time. Registration will be capped at 76. Questions can be sent to all2common@gmail.com and/or posted on this forum.

I'm signed up to play in the Slosh, but I don't have a car in Portland right now, is there anyone in Portland who could give me a ride to Trojan? I'll be in inner NE but I could get around the morning of to a more advantageous location.

C.T.P.'s are great. It shows that the T.D. went out and got extra swag. Another chance for someone to earn something. Not just givin to them because they signed up. And it get's the sponsers names out on the course for everyone to see all day not just metioned once or twice by the T.D.

C.T.P.s are great. Make sure that some are division specific on holes approriate for that division (women only, Crusties only, etc. on shorter holes).
All holes don't have to be CTP, either. You could have long drive on hole 5 and longest putt (hole 1, maybe).

Me like CTP. Sometimes, only thing win is CTP. CTP good. Many players donate CTP prizes. Must remind groups to bring in after last hole!

No word of anyone going there, coming here on the way. I guess I may just have to come and be in the gallery. Never seen Feldberg play anyway. I hope Surratt shows up. I have at least one disc for him. I'm bringing most of the Lost and Found from Mud and hope to get off them to the owners and/or their trusted friends. 9:30 am probably won't see me there, but maybe better late than never. If golfers show up here early, I might not make it at all. You know me.

It's wet. Just across the water on 9 is a small bog. Water from across the highway is draining onto basket 10's "fairway" and walkthrough. 11's fairway is pretty soggy as well. Everything else should be nice come Saturday. Maybe J. Lewis will post a status after his round tomorrow.
That's about what I expected. Good to know. Boots it is.

Who's been to Trojan recently? How sloshy is the course?
The way YOU throw, real sloshy! Actually down right WET! You are SUPPOSED to throw on dry land NOT in the water, Scott! Just trying to help!

Sorry, wrong thread. Seriously though. This is my first missed Slosh tournament and I just wanted to wish everyone a great couple of rounds out at Trojan in the nearly 70s weather. A little bit different then the last Slosh.

I played at home today and after birdieing the first two holes, and staying at two down for the first six, but missing the birdie putt gimme from my best drive in years on six, I nicely turned the round into a +10. Sh*t happens, and then *t happens again. I even triple bogied the shortest hole with the biggest basket for my second triple of the round. Oh well, going to try again tomorrow.

Melo taking AM mens brings back memories. A few years back I was tied with her at the Hillbilly open going into the final ropund for the lead. The tourney T-Ry use to through at the Newberg courses. I ened up shooting like crap and took 4th. Melo should not be playing Int mens, she is much better than that, but I am sure she didnt have any other div to play in at this one

Lonelle Green won his first tournament in Adv. Masters! :trophy:
Bart Yanoch aced hole 7! That's no mistake...
Then Heff Hagerty aces hole 15!
Followed by Bart's second ace on hole 16! Yep...

Just because I'm curious, why not accept cash seeing as how you can play advanced as long as your rating is under 970?

This is true.... But....
As soon as they accept cash they automatically get reclassified as a Pro. Therefore they cannot play in the Am Worlds or Nats or any other Am Major, unless they patition the Tour Manager.
