In the afterglow of the PretzelBowl I hope you'll consider coming down to Lakewood on Sunday, Feb. 21st for the monthly Acepot. Tee time is 10:00am and we'll be playing the 27 hole format which generally takes three and a half hours or so. I'll be there a little earlier to take registrations and fill out the cards. Cost is $12 for Am divisions and $15 for pros and there's a little over $100 in the Acepot waiting to be won.
Cheers, Eric

27 layout? May have to make it up.

27 hole format is 1-18 + 1-6 + Geezer(12) & 17,18... as opposed to playing two 18's with a break... I really like the 27 hole format for acepots... speeds it up significantly...

Actually- 1-18 (playing old 11)
1-3, 5-7(coffin), 12, 17, 18. It puts another ace run in the mix.

Also, is the old hole 11 teepad the same?
Thanks Eric and Brian.

If you want to move the basket....
But I was referring to playing old 11 AND coffin.
Also, is the old hole 11 teepad the same?
Yes, but we've added some attractive fencing and debris barrier to the left side of the fairway. And if you haven't been to the course in awhile- we did some landscaping recently- we removed all of the houses east of the course.
Thanks Eric and Brian.

Hi folks,
I'm planning on running the Acepot at Lakewood this Sunday, June 20th. 27 holes starting at 10:00 am tee time. I think there's currently around $200 in the acepot but I'm not positive, I don't have it in front of me at the moment. $12 for Ams, $15 for pros. $2 to the Ace and $2 to the club, the rest is payout...
Unfortunately we won't be playing hole 7 (the coffin hole) since there is a new construction project on the King county housing land and they've put a fence up in the middle of that fairway. The number 7 basket is temporarily locked in the short position of hole twelve but I am hoping to have it installed in the woods below the number twelve tee pad by Sunday. It will shift things around a bit but should preserve an 18 hole layout at least for the time being.
Cheers, Eric

Hey Roc Stars,
Just a reminder that the Lakewood Monthly Acepot will be held this Sunday, August 15th. I'm planning to start the round promptly at 10:00am since I have something I need to get to directly after the event. We'll be doing the usual 27 hole format straight through. Buy in is $12 for Amateur players and $15 for Pros. As always $2 goes to the club, $2 goes to the acepot and the rest is for payout. I don't have the ace $$ in front of me at the moment but I believe we're in the $200 range presently.
For what it's worth (nothing, actually) I got my first ever ace at North Park today, skipped a champ katana into hole 9!
Hope to see you there! Eric
Additionally: There's going to be a work party at Seatac on Saturday the 14th starting at 10:00am. If you'd like to be involved just show up with whatever gardening implements you've got... from gloves to weedwackers and pruners. All efforts to beautify the course will help make the upcoming Jet Wash Open an even more spectacular event! Speaking of which, if you haven't yet registered for the Jet Wash, now is the time... it's going to be a blast!
And.... don't forget to take a look at lakewooddiscgolf.com where you'll find a link leading to info about this years WA State DG Championships.

Hey there Lakewood Discers,
As hard as is to believe, it's already time for the third Sunday Acepot at Lakewood.
Sunday, Sept. 19th - 10:00 players meeting (sign up from 9:30 til 10:00)
We'll once again be running the 27 hole format. One round with plenty of ace runs. The acepot currently sits at $203 and $2 per player will be added to that. Entry fee is still $12 for Ams and $15 for Pros. Ams winners will receive scrip from Chainbangerz and Pros play for cash.
You may also be interested to hear about the upcoming Seattle Club Championships which will be taking place at North Park & Terrace Creek on October 3rd. This is lieu of the first Sunday North Park acepot and therefore the $500+ sitting in that acepot will be up for grabs at that event. Lowell is running it and says that the field is limited to 45 players because of the number of holes at N. Park.
Additionally, the Seattle SuperClassic is happening at Lakewood on Saturday, Oct. 2nd. Details can be found on this thread (http://www.nwdiscgolfnews.com/forum/showthread.php?t=5473) on the forum. This awesome event is being put on by Andrew Rivers and promises to be both cheap & FUN!
Later, Eric

Lakewood (King County park in White Center) meeting spot is in the upper parking lot by hole #1.
North Park is at the west end of the parking lot at the picnic table by hole #2's tee pad.
I hope the weather improves a bit by Sunday, it's really wet here in Seattle tonight.

Considering the threat of nasty weather, followed closely by the reality of nasty weather, is was cool to have 11 discers at the Lakewood course this morning. It was a pleasure to have out of towner, Sam G. join us to try and take the $223 acepot back to Portland. We started off is some pretty serious rain but that subsided after about 6 or 7 holes and from there on out it was beautiful on the course with lots of sun breaks and a fair bit of wind. In the end, after 27 holes of golf Bill Clark managed to squeak out the win by one stroke over me, followed one more stroke back by Ming and Ray Sanchez. Ray won the ensuing CTP on hole one to take home last cash. Participating Pros were Bill C. (-4), Eric (-3), Ming & Ray (-2), Bob Brown (+1), Sam Gibson (+2), Ace Berg (+3) and Getty (+8). Tuffi was the lone Pro Woman (even par) and also won the CTP playoff for the sweet Chainbangerz hoodie which the boyz at the shop kindly donated. Ted Coulliard was the uncontested Am winner and cashed in his scrip for a tasty Organic Wizard with a Jet Wash Open custom stamp.
Cheers everyone, that was a fun round!

It's time once again for the third Sunday (Oct. 17th) of the month Acepot at Lakewood. $223 currently in the acepot. We'll be teeing off promptly at 10:00am and playing the familiar 27 hole format. The entry will be $12 for Ams and $15 for Pros. The weather is predicted to be a beautiful fall day and Lakewood is looking lush and green.
Hope to see you there, EE

Third Sunday monthly acepot at Lakewood on December 19th! Planning on the 27 hole format but may have to skip a hole or two unless someone brings a canoe or a rowboat. Yeah, it's been raining a lot recently.
Pick up some new plastic at the Chainbangerz 30% off sale and take it for a test run at Lakewood!
I'll be there by around 9:30 and we'll tee off at 10:00. Acepot stands at around $230 or so.
It'd be lovely to see you there, Cheers, Eric

The January monthly acepot at Lakewood is this Sunday (1/16), tee time 10:00am. Acepot currently stands at $239 and counting. We'll be following what has become the usual 27 hole format. Don't forget your umbrella!
Oh, and yes, I'm aware that the Squidhawks are playing at the same time and I'm not a big fan of scheduling around spectator sports events, so there you have it. Fortunately (or not) I don't think the hawks have any better chance of winning or losing this game based on my watching it live [I might just tape it though, to watch later]

Twentynine players showed up yesterday for the Acepot, which is pretty good for a chilly November morning! The weather actually turned out to be beautiful and there were plenty of close ace runs (but no ace this month). Bjorn won by five strokes shooting a smokin' 66 (15 down) for the 27 hole round and that included a bogey on the normally birdiable hole three. Fun day, thanks to everyone that made it out!

Hello my disc golfin' friends!
There are a couple of events going on this weekend that I'm sure you'll want to attend.
On Saturday Chainbangerz is hosting the "St. Patrick's Day Massacre (http://www.chainbangerz.com/product/st-pattys-day-chain-massacre)" at SeaTac. It's a sanctioned, one day "C" Tier and features two rounds of 18 holes at the long, lush course known for tough love! Info at chainbangerz.com
On Sunday, Sunday, Sunday I'll be running the monthly ACEPOT at LAKEWOOD. As always I'll be there at 9:30 to take sign-ups and we'll get the 27 hole round started at 10:00am. Two dollars from each entry fee will be added to the $372 that's already stuffed into the acepot envelope! I'll be pestering Keith to put hole one in the short position so we can have plenty of chances to smack the links and take the dough.
Spring in comin', can ya feel it ?? Cheers, Eric

In case you missed it... Andy Foster hit the Acepot in March on what turned out to be the last shot of his round on hole one!
No one aced in April so now we're at $228 and counting. There will be an Acepot at Lakewood this Sunday, May 20th. Since I'll be playing the tourney at Steilly this weekend, Gordy has stepped up to run the 27 hole, single round event at Lakewood this time. He'll be there around 9:30am to take signups and everyone should be teeing off at around 10:00.

I'll be there at 9:30 to take signups and we'll tee off at 10:00. $10 for Amateur divisions and $12 for Pros. We play one round of 27 holes (front 9 twice, back 9 once) which takes around three and a half hours to complete. Two dollars from each entry is added to the Acepot which currently stands at $236. Remaining $$ goes to payout. Hope to see you there!

What's up Lakewood Superstars?
It's time once again for the third Sunday Acepot at Lakewood (Dec. 16th). I'll be there by around 9:30am as per usual in order to take sign-ups and send everyone out by 10:00. Unfortunately (or not, depending on your degree of hydrophobia) we no longer have holes 9 & 10 which played over the lake. I think we'll play the sixteen holes that remain and then play the front nine again substituting hole 18 for the missing #9. That'll be a total of 25 holes. I'm open to other ideas and depending on how many players show up maybe we'll add a couple of ace runs at the end of the round for fun.
The Acepot currently stands at $256 and of course $2 from each entry fee is added to that. Pro divisions pay $12 to play and Ams pay $10.
On a side note... I'm going to be covering for Keith in the Lakewood Pro Shop (Chainbangerz (http://chainbangerz.com/)) this weekend as well as Thursday through Sunday next weekend. Please consider stopping in to schmooze and peruse the plastic if you're so inclined. A box of super sweet Champion Rocs (proto star stamped RC3s) arrived at the shop today and they're not gonna last long (I'm just sayin').
It may be a little chilly and wet this Sunday but I don't think it's going to look like these pictures (http://www.flickr.com/photos/edgepix/sets/72157611513266157/detail/) from December 2008...
Cheers! Eric

Hey Hey, Disc Golfers,
I stopped by Lakewood last Sunday to play a round, stepped up to hole one, and threw my first shot of the day right into the chains for an Ace! First hole in one of 2013 for me.
If that's any inspiration to you... This coming Sunday, Feb. 17th is the third Sunday Acepot at Lakewood and there's $310 and counting, ready to be won! The format is the usual one round of 27 holes which takes around three and a half hours to complete. I'll be there 9:30ish to take registrations and we'll all hit the tee pads at 10:00. Entry is $13 for Pros and $10 for Ams with $2 from each entry going into the acepot and the rest going to payout.
Sounds like fun, right? Hope to see you there, Eric
BTW- Every year I like to join in the online fantasy disc golf league (http://www.playfantasydiscgolf.com/). It's free and fun and keeps me interested in following all the best Pro disc golfers. Last year I ran a league on the site and gave away a WA State Champ disc as a prize for first place. I'll let you all know if I set that up again this year.
