I remember one hole in particular from last year's Inversion.
You stand near the short position on hole three and play back to the basket on two. Which means that you have to throw between the guardian trees and land your disc on or past three's tee-pad.
A very scary shot since you're trying to land on a well-guarded shelf and anything to the left or right or too short means you're headed for a four (at least).
Playing back up the fairway on five posed a similar challenge. The trees defining the fairway near the tee become even more problematic when they define the only realistic path to the basket.
If you want to play, get there early. This final Ninkasi will fill.

I parked three to two with a turn over forehand last year and still think of it as one of the best shots I threw all year.

Do you utilize the cement tees during the Dexter Inversion IPA?

Some, but generally no. Some of the baskets are on teepads as we are playing the course more or less backwards.

I am willing to offer my Mach Lite basket for the tourney (don't want any more chain outs on crappy baskets!) if you need it. Can't wait for this one....was a blast last year.

we will need somewhere around 10 - 12 baskets. derek if you can bring those two, that would be great. other than that, i think our club can provide the others...
as matt said, we do not generally throw from any teepads. if anything, we are throwing either to baskets on teepads, or the previous holes basket past the teepad.
once again, we will have food (thanks gene), and a whole bunch of swag that we need to get rid of. we received a new batch of discs (thanks pure disc golf) and another run of different colored shirts for scip. i am going to add 4 holes for a total of 22 holes to accommodate 100 people (or 3 ghost groups). we will most certainly cap it at that to make sure we get done in time...
the first 84 people over the age of 21 will receive a free ninkasi 22, 1 time. :D thanks ninkasi!

I don't understand that post. Now if it had read:

or
I am willing to offer my Mach III basket for the tourney (don't want any more chain outs on crappy baskets!)
then I would understand it.

I read it as he's he's willing to help out by offering a basket and he's letting you know he thinks it's crappy but will bring it if needed.
Didn't you fellers use to welcome first time posters before you started in on them.:biggrin2: J/K

No "starting in" here. It just sounded to me like there was a personal basket being offered for use, because, of the crappy ones being used currently.

Yeah, in retrospect my grammar was a little shabby. Bottom line is...I don't want anymore dead center putts chaining out because of crappy chains. During the Alton Baker tourney I had three putts, one for a 55 ft birdie, come out the backside of single-chained baskets. Oooh was I sore after that. Hopefully Dr Z. can repeat his weather voodoo for the Inversion....come on SUNSHINE!!

a sure time to get in? i would say 7:30am. as we don't start signups until 8am.
this is going to be very hard for me to turn people away, as i am such an obnoxiously nice guy. get there early, and you'll make it. get there late, and pray to L. Ron Hubbard. :biggrin2:

Hi Will,
I read earlier that Andrew was going to be donating some plastic to the event and was wondering if you would need anymore. I can donate a mixed, Innova/Discraft/Quest/Gateway batch again if you can put them to good use (I have a couple extra Pro Katanas & ESP Nukes that I can throw in  ).
Let me know,
Ryan

Thanks for the map; getting mentally prepared... or just mental. I noticed that all, except one, of the dog legs are dog leg lefts :pullhair: I'm RHFH, so I'm hoping there are some lefty routes I can take advantage of. :cheerleader:
Should be fun, and a great way to close out the Ninkasi series.

uh, oh, uh, yeah, uummmmm. riiiiiiiggghhttt.
you know, when you're setting up a course at lightning speed you sometimes seem to skip over the obvious. yes, this course is rhbh friendly, BUT!!!, there are at least 3 shots that are lefty backhand MUSTS. so there you go.
and besides, you do have to have all the shots in your bag eventually right? consider this my way of making you a better player. :biggrin2:

And I think you succeeded. I saw some great shots out there as we navigated one of the most technical courses I've had the pleasure to play.
Good job.
The open holes offered a variety of paths to the pin. The woods holes gave you one or maybe two choices and you were so screwed if you deviated even slightly from your intended flight path.
And having so much tree-fense right near the baskets reminded me of Old Dexter.
Dang, that was fun.
Thanks Will.

Cheers Jim! and THANK YOU for all of your help. Hell, thanks to EVERYONE who helped these tournies become successful. it's so nice to be able to set up a course, sign people in, and leave with the faith that everything will be ran smoothly and cooperatively.
i left the tourney to go work an 11 hour shift with yet another coming up today so scores and all that other jazz will have to wait until the weekdays.
THANK YOU EVERYONE WHO PLAYED YESTERDAY AND IN THE PAST MONTHS, AND EVERYONE WHO HELPED IN WHATEVER WAY. (more props to be given in the next week :D)

Extra kudos to Brian and Will for putting on such a fun series and to all those who lent a helping hand, kudos to y'all as well. Much thanks to the best brewery in Oregon for sponsoring, may the beer gods smile down upon thee. The Inversion was an awesome time, but Alton Baker was my favorite of the bunch...so many technical holes made for a very challenging course. How sweet it would be to have a permanent course there! Disc Golf Rocks!!
