View Full Version : April Fools Doubles/Oregon Warm Up C-tier March 27-28 at Adair

The 4th April Fools Doubles will be March 27th and the Oregon Warm Up C-tier singles event will be the following day March 28th.

Start thinking about your partners and clear your schedules because this is going to be a great weekend of golf at Adair.

The format for April Fools Doubles will remain essentially the same with 11 holes tough, 11 holes alternate, and 22 holes best. We will have some new challenges out there this year for everybody, the doughnuts might even be back, I know how much everyone loved those! I will be the lead TD as usual for this event with Dion as my trusted assistant.

The Oregon Warm Up will be a traditional singles format and a PDGA C-tier event. Dion is going to be using a tweaked design with the goal being a pro par 60. Dion will be the lead TD for this event with myself serving as first officer.

Dion has created a nice combo flyer which will be sent to Treelove soon for posting on his magical calendar. Sign ups will be primarily online this year. More info to come as the sign-ups go live in the coming weeks.

Thanks Shavonne for the wonderful art for this weekend!

This year truly is going to rock! 22 Hole layout for doubles allows for 44 teams (maybe 46 teams if we fill quickly and want to add a ghost group). 18 Hole layout for the singles allows for 72 players (I'll take up to 80 comfortably, but beyond that we start running out of time for the event).

How about another strong showing in the mixed doubles division? I think we were the biggest division last year.

Glad to hear people are wanting to sign up already! Registration is handled online this year as NW Sign Ups operated by Challenge Disc Golf is a sponsor of the event! I expect everything to be up and running after this weekend, as the Challenge crew is hosting the Winter Flurry at Sumner Meadows.

Nate and I can also take registrations at the Cottage Grove event on March 14.

Team Dr. Jekyll & Mr. Hyde will not be able to attend this year as Dr. Jekyll will be out of the country. I’m posting this to encourage more couples to sign up since you will no longer be competing for second place.

Chase, can you get to the freeway? The event is too early for us to go into Monmouth, but we can pick you up anywhere next to I-5... On the way back, we would have time to swing through Monmouth.

(Of course, you would need to call us on our way to to remind us - you already know about my forgetfulness...)

Dion and I just got back from 2 weeks on the road in Vegas and AZ. Both the Oregon Warm Up and the April Fools Doubles still have plenty of available space and we will be updating registration lists very soon. Go to www.northwestsignup.com to get registered for both events and make sure you don't get caught without a spot as we expect registrations to pick up now that we are back in Oregon and spreading the word around.

Yeah, it hasn't been updated though since the the 10th.

Registration seems to be a bit slow, I hope people realize that they need to pre-reg for this one. I am at the liberty of charging a late fee :)

It'd be sweet if both of these days filled, I no know the doubles will fill easily. By the way, amateurs will have their choice of either a custom stamped ESP Nuke, Crystal Stalker, or Focus! If you play both days, you get your choice of two of them! Also, Ams can look forward to 125% payout minimum, so that means lots of discs for those lucky enough to play their best :)

Lets go folks, get yourself paid up and on the list, make life a touch easier for the TDs!

Wish I had a better game to do so. Straight up doubles sure. With worst shot and alternate shot . We both would need a better partner. I think I've had 2 rounds rated high enough to be an advanced player. 907 doesn't seem to be a high am rating. Would be a low advanced rating. Playing up with the old guys is fun . Playing up to just get pounded is no fun.

Thank you Dion and Nate for a sweet weekend. It was an awesome 18 hole layout.
Highlights for the weekend:
Saturday - Using and making straddle putts. Throwing in a 100 ft "putt" on 18 for 3. Getting a 1 on hole 7.
Sunday - Going OB twice in round 2.

Thanx Dion,Nate,Colin,Dave,Mark,Jeff,Shavonne,Eric, sure there's more. Takes a group effort to put on a good show. Thank you Mr. Treelove. Being reconized by your peers is a good feeling. My first Adv. Master victory. Believe I had some back in the day. The 1994 Lightning Open at Whistlers Bend being my most favorite. I like the shorter technical par 4's. They make you play golf not just huck it. It was to good to be true to win a second trophy buzz. It was very just, being that I won my doubles division too.
Great beer!

Thank you Cindy====it was sloppy and wet but the rain wasn't too bad.:dancing: I had a thousand sneeze attacks which means a lot of sneezes for me. Sneezing in between shots----all about the timing. :jumpspin:

First, I'll second G's congrats on the PDGA win in MM1. Nice solid shooting usually brings home the trophy in that division. 933 & 951 are 2 nice rounds on what looked to be a hard layout, that shows some real steady play.

But second, I'll have to take umbrage at the dubs comment. There wasn't even an Advanced Masters division offered when we signed up. And it was very hush hush, wink wink, thrown together at the last minute behind our backs. Had we entered, we'd have won the division instead of DFL in Masters. So I cannot concur with the Justice of which you speak.

Thirdly, I had a major blast! The course and the company and the weather all came together for one of the best times I've had at a tourney in a long time.

Major props to Ron the Whip and the whole club that always puts on a great time at Adair. Damn that was good beer, and the lunch hit the spot! Thanks!:cheerleader::rockon:

What division did you sign up for ? Last year as well. All I did was see that there was a gm1 team all alone. Asked them if they wanted to play am or see if I could russel up a division. So I did. Didn't think of asking you because I thought you played for cash last year as well when I won my division. So last year wasn't good either if your score was better than ours. If we weren't playing matchplay and needed more birdies we might have shot better. So next year I expect you in the mm1 division to make it fair.
Seems just to me. Bear and Judge maybe we can hook up in the future. That was a great two round match together.

It was fun. We had a few laughs that's for sure. Down to the final hole. Be seeing you down the road for sure.

This a non-pdga tourney that is F-U-N FUN! How about next year you step up to Pro and play with us? Then you can soot all those birdies that you let slip away since it was only matchplay.:yay:

Either way, it's all good and I was just giving you some crap, you know.:pirate:
