I'm opening the better named thread for the next team event Feb 13-14 at Rooster Rock.

I'm going to have a hard time waiting four weeks for the next team golf event. So Jordan, why is it that we're not playing Jan 30-31? We could have been done by the end of February.

As I posted on the other thread, the NFL screwed it all up with their stupid Pro Bowl, moving it to the week before the Super Bowl this year. Can you THINK of anything more stupid? Will any of the Pro Bowl players playing in the Super Bowl even THINK of playing? It's a crappy enough game as it is, let's keep some of the best players from playing! Stupid!:headbang:

How did Dark Horse and Rockwood do?
After our 0-3 start, we're now 3-3-1, and chasing those 2 teams.

It is one thing to change venues this late in the game, that's bad enough. But to change the scheduled dates is more than I can take.

So how about next year people help me out and take a little closer look at my schedule IN OCTOBER and make your little suggestions back when it will have a better effect than pissing into the wind?:bricks:

I gotta go do something else, or my anger problems will get outta hand again...:pirate:

Hi Jordan,
Please don't get angry.
Running a league can be a tough gig.
I appreciate what you've done for all of the disc golf team members for the almost 2 years that I've played (and before that).

Changing the schedule is a pretty ridiculous request, and is just wasting your time reading about it, and then having to think about that subject.
Don't do it. Let them piss on their own legs.

Is anyone else worried about waking up on the 15th of February without testicles?

I don't see why you should change it this late in the game either Jordan. Nobody spoke up then so screw 'em!

I agree.

I also wish we could play another event this month, but we are all busy and I am sure a large number of us already have other plans for that weekend. I for one am lucky to even be able to play TDG. I am a single dad every other weekend, and because my time with my daughter is limited enough I do not want to miss any of that time. If the schedule for our matches were on the opposite weekends I would not be able to play. I am now hooked on this so I am just praying that the schedule next season falls on the those same weekends or I am going to have to bring some pretty hefty bribes to next years captain's meeting.

OK to get this derailed thread back on the tracks.

What will the schedule for Rooster be. East or West, singles or doubles, morning or evening?

Due to the size of the league we cannot have everybody play the same side at the same time. A full TDG event fills 12 holes of an 18 hole course. I believe I have made myself quite clear about how I feel about playing this course as a single 18 hole course in earlier threads...:pullhair:

So each round (AM & PM) we will send the singles off to one side of the course and the doubles off to the other.

On Sunday, I am planning on using the East course for dubs and the West course for singles.

This event we get back to 8:30am Captains set lineups and 9 am start, so we may have enough light to play 1 round of West singles...but I don't think that is what I want to do for the Sunday rounds. I am leaning towards an 11RP/Stroke SSA for the East side and debating using a 9RP/Stroke for the West side.:pirate:

But we do have time before the event to debate the Pros and Cons of this setup...

Isn't the SSA on the West course higher than the East?

Sorry, I should be more clear. The WEST course plays easier to a lower SSA that results in 11RP/Stroke. The EAST course is wooded and plays harder to a higher SSA that results in 9RP/Stroke. Is that better? Agree or Disagree?:pirate:

the east side will be easier to make strokes on an opponent and adds to the strategy of the line up. if you don't want to throw the east side in singles then get signed up for the west side on singles. its way too simple to throw singles on one side and doubles on the other then switch i think? or I'm too far in the bag to realize that that is what was already decided. very possible. so what was it again? maybe a final well defined decision for saturdays from jordan or keith?

For the final 3 events of Team Disc Golf we get back to the relatively late start of 8:30am Captains Set lineups and 9am Tee time.

I usually set up in the gazebo closest to tee 1 of the west side of the park. it really isn't very convenient, but it is the best that I have figured out. I'll send out the singles who can walk to their holes while the dubs groups can drive over to the East side to start their rounds.

The dubs groups can either walk to separate holes or just tee off from hole 1 in some fairly determined order. At most we will be having only 4 groups of dubs. Don't worry about the 2 minute warning or start horn, you won't be able to hear even me way over there so just start when you are ready.:pirate:

Putt This lost a squeaker to Salty, Good, & Sassy 4.5-5.5. Green Bowl Packers also lost, eliminating themselves from the division race. Big Winds won and now have the division lead by one match. At Trojan it's Putt This vs. Big Winds for the division crown. If we win we'll be tied on record (6-3) and it will go to match points. I believe if we beat them head-to-head we will win on match points, depending on their margin of victory yesterday. Should be exciting...

In other division news, Rockwood and 3D&C clinched their divisions. Not sure how the Crusties / Crazy 18 race is going. The Crusties won and if Crazy lost or tied they are eliminated from contention.

Dam Bob I was hoping to post before you about the bung hole whipping we gave you today. I know you are upset because your team made you stay on the west side today. Im upset Bob because Hemmerling is better than you even on his worst day.

We had fun playing Drunk and disorderllier today and it was nice playing two rounds with Celeste and Shawn the heart and soul of your team.

Wow. I didnt know you were drinking again. And I thought your behavior was fine.

No im not drinking again but Bob just brings the bad out of me. It was a fun day playing team drunk and Bob too he keep talking about the East side but his team would not let him play over there because they were thinking he might get lost down at the beach.

I sat out the second round at Rooster (too many cookies!) and played with Jordan/Sam vs Hagerty/Herzog on the east. Hole 4 (second round), very downhill, threw my Voodoo and it was money all the way. I always wanted to ace that hole. Only my fourth ace in 12 years. :)

Nice one - I showed my two friends the tomahawk run on that hole and they've both aced it - with my shot.

It hurts.

I've hit metal on it so many times that dumb luck should have kicked it in for me by now, but alas, 6 is my only ace at Rooster...

Verifying the scorecards last night I found 5 errors: 4 on
Saturday cards, 1 on Sunday. Draw your own conclusions... ;)
Please double check your score before turning in the card.
Thanks.

The only correction that made a difference was for the Bob Cabal vs
Tom Dooley match. It was originally a win for Tom and that changed
into a tie. Yeah Bob! Didn't affect the overall match result as
the Crusties still demolished D&D 10.5-1.5.

We tried to sweep WMD and make a close match against the Crusties at Trojan, but they did kick some ass against D&D, so our chances are very slim, unless we sweep the Crusties.
