This is a tough one for me because up until about a year a go I only used 150 class discs and I like everyone on this list. I think I have to go with a 150 Valkyrie though.

Surge doesn't come in 150g premium plastic. The Avenger, Flick, and Impact come in 150g ESP though. Flick, Talon, and Storm used to come in 150g Z, but they've been DC'd.

Right you are, my bad, can you edit the poll to take out the Surge and put in the Flick?

I haven't thrown any 150 discraft yet, although I do have a 150 Flick. I voted Banshee, hehe.

The Flick is pretty sweet in Z, I'm not a fan of the ESP ones, doesn't fly the same.

Ah yes, I was thinking Z Flick... sorry, I blanked on Champion/Z not being a "premium" plastic.

No, Champ is definitely a "premium" plastic. I think sillybizz was just saying he liked it better than ESP, which is also considered premium.

Correct! for one point.

So X doesn't count as premium plastic?

I voted teebird because it's the only 150g disc I've thrown (well besides an r-pro Boss but those are just wacky). I used to have a 150 star teebird that I used for either throwing out of bushes when I had little room to swing my arm, or uphill turnover floaters. I almost aced hole 10 at Pier Park in the righthand position many times with that disc. Sadly, I don't have it anymore. I believe I lost it in the drink at Dabney.

I suppose it is compared to Z/ESP, but I sure wouldn't call it premium.

Any plastic with the word "pro" in the name isn't premium plastic. (Pro D, Pro, R-Pro, KC Pro, etc.)

Elite X is NOT premium plastic.

Well now that's not entirely true. Some of those Innova __-Pro blends are pretty close to Champion, if not actually Champion under another name. I'm thinking specifically of the KC-Pro Gazelles.

I throw a 149g old CE Firebird for a lot of trick shots. The Flick is also an awesome 150 disc, just doesn't fit my sidearm grip as well.

The Avenger is my only 150 class disc (149) and it only gets pulled out when I absolutely must. I have thrown 150 flicks and leopards but thats about it. I would love to get my hands on a 150 class Force though. That would be frickin epic. Too bad they don't exist....yet.

Stay ignorant, that way me, and Adam I'm thinking specifically of the KC-Pro Gazelles.

:D

Thats a 20 buck Gazelle, and its not a CFR/TFR disc. I think it qualifies as premium.

I throw Discraft so I won't be buying an KC Pro anything, thank you very much.

I think Innova has really screwed away their plastic naming scheme.

How do you issue most of the KC Pro's a solid creme colored disc and then issue another as KC Pro that looks like Clear Champ plastic.

R-Pro is another story. R-Pro Pig/R-Pro Dart/R-Pro Boss
R-Pro - the disposable driver!

I'd rather have some 4 numeral code telling me what the plastic is instead of the marketing scam they use now.

Looking at the results of the poll, I guess I should try a 150 Flick. It sad because I just bought 2 normal weight ones.:pullhair:

The 150 Champ Leopard is my goto disc for the long drive in the deep woods.

I recommend one in Z plastic even though they are out of production, if you can find one. ESP Flicks just aren't the same.

I think the "Pro" designation just means that in some ways the disc is different than a regular run of the same disc.

The O.P. said " premium " plastic. To me this means anything thats not Dx or the equivalent plastic from another manufacturer.

Innova's Pro plastic is premium plastic, being a blend between Dx and Champion in most cases, its more durable than Dx and has a better grip.

KC Pro is really anything Climo likes to throw.

The KC Pro Gazelle I think is unique, I cant think of any other Champ plastic KC Pro models.

I sure if the O.P. had known about this disc, he would have included it in the poll, and the results would have been completely different.

Here are 4 Pro discs.
http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2752/4229417063_fd54b62b32_m.jpg
Top is a Pro Beast, in true Pro (Dx/Champ blend) plastic.
Bottom is a KC Pro Roc, here's what Innova says about this disc;
KC Roc is made in a firm blend of Pro Line plastic for players who prefer a stiffer disc. It will retain original flight characteristics longer than the DX Roc
So it too is "premium" plastic.
Left is a J.K. Pro Aviar-X. Innova also makes this disc from a special formula;
The JK (Juliana Korver) Aviar is made from the driver mold in a special blend of durable Pro-line Plastic that is more flexible and grippier than the other Aviar models. It has the same flight characteristics as the KC Aviar. Its softer plastic is better in colder climates and for those who have dry hands and require a tackier grip.
The disc on the right is of course the K.C. Pro Gazelle, in premium Champion plastic.

So in conclusion, any disc made in Pro, or KC Pro, or J.K. Pro plastic is indeed premium plastic.

Since the O.P. only throws Discraft, I'm sure he has no idea that these better quality discs from Innova even exist, which explains why he lumps them in with regular Dx models.

I keep thinking of this scene from " Animal House", where the guys get called into Dean Wormers office, and one of his lines is,
" Ignorance is no excuse "

Regarding the Discraft Flick, the 150 Z plastic discs are no longer available, and extremely hard to find, they replaced it with ESP, which doesnt fly the same.
If you cant find a Z plastic Flick, I think a 150 Dx TeeRex would be a good substitute, although it wont last nearly as long, so buy two or three.

I had a 150 champion sidewinder that was gold and i left/lost it at riverside. I dont think ill ever get a 150 sidewinder like that one again. Please, if anyone found a clear-faded purple 150 champion sidewinder with "22415" on it........give it back! Thanks.

I would think a 150 Champion Firebird is much more like a 150 Elite Z Flick.

I never liked DX, Pro or KC pro and I don't consider them to be premium plastic. Champion/Elite Z and ESP/Star really should only be considered premium plastic, basically anything you are going to pay $15 for.

I sure if the O.P. had known about this disc, he would have included it in the poll, and the results would have been completely different.

Or maybe you are just a little sore that a Discraft disc won in this poll? :chinscratch:

A lot of O.P. bashing there Captain Jackass.
