So how did everyone do on their goals for 2009?
What are your new goals for 2010?
I did okay this year, but I feel short of most of my goals. They were pretty though though. I did get my first PDGA win in open. I also got to play in the USDGC which was really great. I'm still looking up at a 1000 rating and I would like to get a few more trophies next year.
Thanks again to everyone who helped run all of the great events I got to play this year and to all the folks that I got to huk with.

I did pretty great on my goals:
I got an ace
I broke 400 feet
I cashed in a few events
I'm excited for next years goals which look something like this:
Play 7 more courses.
Finish the course at Western Oregon
have a great fundraiser tournament
Shot an average round rating of 900+ in a tournament.
Get my rating over 900

I am really happy with how this year has turned out for me, my goals to begin with were mainly to play 30 events, break $10,000 PDGA cash, win an A-tier, finish in the top 20 at majors, and get to a 1020 rating.
I got my 30 events.
$11,252
I won one A-tier and took 2nd in another.
Finished 5th at worlds and 43rd at USDGC (while I did technically miss my goal, the high from getting fifth overpowers the low of 43rd).
I was rated 1022, now at 1019, but once Eugene Celebration is sorted out I think I may end the year at 1020.
A few other things I am happy about:
A second consecutive 10 win season (along with 11 2nd place finishes)
24/30 events in the top 3
55 consecutive cashes
Another Oregon Series title
Next year my #1 goal is to pull an Arlyn and go top 20 at the USDGC
I would also love to win a bigger A-tier and get a top 5 at a NT
Just like everybody I would love to raise my rating as well, 1025 I hope.
I also want to improve my putting and shoot an 1100 rated round!
Lastly, more birdies in 2010, and less bogeys!!

Lastly, more birdies in 2010, and less bogeys!!
This pretty much sums it up for me, but I'm going to elaborate on how I'm going to do it :D
As for 2009, my rating didn't really change, but I feel I'm a much better golfer now. A lot of my improvement has been during post-tourney season.
My 2009 goal was mostly to throw 400+ feet, and then work from there. I accomplished throwing 400+ feet at will, and have drastically improved my upshots and putts.
My 2010 goals:
1) Improve driving accuracy and consistency. I can't get birdies if I'm off the fairway or green.
2) Make 90% of putts inside 25', and 70% inside the circle.
3) Increase upshot accuracy and get-out-trouble-shots. Right now I occasionally pull upshots way right or let them slip out early, and I want to eliminate that.
4) Cash in three Open events, and place top 3 in any Am1 events that I play.
5) Learn to throw at least two new types of shots with consistency and accuracy. Possible candidates are BH or FH rollers, sky rollers, "elevator" shots, air bounces, "go-for-it" approaches, grenades, or extremely high angle (80+ degree) spike hyzers.
6) Get a 970+ rating.
7) Learn to throw 450'+ on a golf line.

Finally got another PDGA win, my 2009 goal. Would have liked it against a bigger field, but a PDGA win is still a PDGA win. It had been 2.5 years; it feels good.

2009 was a good building year for me. The first half of the season I was hot and cold, then in August, I just went all out practicing putting every night and then got my win at Eugene and then a tie for 3rd the following weekend, both PDGA B tiers. Improved 15+ points on my rating. So in 2010
I want to improve my scores at the 3 NT's that I went to in 2009 and keep all my rounds above 920.
So...
Improve to 935 or better by end of 2010. Place higher and better than 2009's NT's in 2010.

Play Dallas.
Play Keizer Rapids & Taloali some more.
Play Sorosis again, now that it has tee pads.
Yup, that's about it.

My major goal this past season was to qualify for the WA series. I failed.
I wanted to finish top 5 in all events. Fail.
Win 3 events. Fail.
Get my rating over 1000. Pass.
2010 my major goal is to just play more whatever happens while I play let it be. I will continue to practice and improve but playing more events would be cool. But before this I need a job, main 2010 goal; find employment.

My goals for 2010 are to continue the improvement in distance and accuracy that I am experiencing here in the later part of '09, play in some actual PDGA tournaments (including, but not limited to the Rose City Open and the Beaver State Fling), practice my putting every day, win the 21st Annual Fourth of July tournie (non sanctioned event) at the Cedar Arms Country Club so's that I can be the Betty again... it's been too freaking long... to keep losing weight (I swear for every pound I lose, I can throw 3 feet further!), and to love every second I get to be out on a golf course...
peace threw disc golf,

I'm going to try that. When I've wasted away to nothing, I'll be throwing 700 feet. Nothing else has worked.

This year was pretty incredible for me. So many things happened that I just could not have expected. I played my first ever disc golf tournament... and won it (Bad Monkey Open -- Am-only tourney). Another highlight was making it to the final of my local doubles league at Pier Park (that was also my first time competing in a league). I also made it to the finals in every amateur tournament I entered. My first 1000 rated round in a tournament was exciting too. Then after picking up a local sponsor (Next Adventure), which was probably just great luck more than anything, I moved up to Pro. After moving up, I had some decent results relative to my expectations. While not my best performance, I took 2nd place at the Gem State Championship, which was my best pro division result.
All results aside, perhaps the most enjoyable part of the season was just expanding my horizons by playing the beautiful game in many new places, and meeting tons of great people in the process. I'll need some more time to plan my tournament schedule for the upcoming year and set my new goals. My rating certainly needs to come up but I think I need more experience before I can even gaugue how much is attainable. I plan on playing in my first NT event. I'm looking forward to the Steady Ed Memorial in Santa Cruz, and of course the Fling. I'll also do the entire Oregon Series without question.
In general, I'll have to keep working on my form and learning whatever I can from the vast number of people who have valuable things to teach me.

My main goal for the 2009 season was to top 20 in all of the events I played in. I wasn’t able to do that but I was able to grow quite a bit in the mental portion of the game which did translate into some good performances. At the beginning of the season I really wavered back and forth about my move to MA1, but in the end it was a great move. I’ve learned a lot, grew a more mature attitude about the game and look forward to an excellent 2010 season.

I've got some personal golf goals for 2010, but most of them are pretty much going to be in the Admin dept.
1) Successfully run the inaugural WA Team Golf League to grow and build for the future.
2) Do my part with the WA State Series to organize and strengthen WA's quality of events and quality of players.
3) Organize and run another fundraiser event for WA rep to the 2010 USDGC. I can't imagine it being possible, but trying to top the $1300.00 raised for Chandler Fry this year)!

In this past year I have taken great instruction, listened to players that were better than me, played with great people, and overcame many mental hurdles that were killing my game. For most of the year I was enhancing my skills, working out the kinks, even in the midst of a tournament. My player rating increased by almost 40 points, I went on tour, I played more tournaments this year than I ever have since the beginning of my disc golf career. I better know how to maintain my physical and mental skills during and through fatigue, weather, and the heat of competition. I practiced everyday and it payed off and I will continue to do so for the same results.
Next year I will leave the amateur field and start playing pro. Worlds 2010 is at my home courses and I'm stoked. I want to do well enough here in the Northwest and abroad to compete in the most top level of golf I can and to be recognized among the elite players in our area. I have a dream and a goal. Positive attitude, be patient with yourself, practice like crazy, no low putts.

I had no goals in 2009, since I just started the sport in late June. But I have some definite thoughts about things I'd like to do for 2010:
- Take a lesson to figure out what I'm doing wrong
- Add 50% to my drive distance without losing accuracy
- Drop my "personal par" by a stroke
- Work on my putting consistency
- Get my first birdie
- Improve enough to be able to participate in a rec tournament and not be DFL
That's more than enough for a year, and I think I'd be pretty thrilled if I could manage just the first half of the list.
