Date is March 13, I guess I forgot to add that to the original post.

I know it's still a few months away, but would anyone be willing to bring a portable basket with them to the tournament? I hoping to add 3 to 4 holes to the course and make some of the holes longer.

On a seperate note, I'm still trying to figure out the best way to do registration, but that should be up soon.

If you're on facebook, you can RSVP and invite other people here (http://www.facebook.com/home.php?ref=home#/event.php?eid=371693980537&ref=mf)

Sounds good to me! I'll try to get my basket welded up in the next week or so and have it available if needed. I know there are better baskets out there than mine. Come on guys, lets get behind this event and attempt by runnaman to step up and get this club going.

Awesome. You're baskets will definitely help. The university has 7 and a half Discatcher Sports, so we'll probably use those if we have to.

So how do I go about changing the date on the calender from the 13th to the 6th?

I just got an email from John Swanson saying that we have reserved the park for the tournament! :cheerleader:It took a little longer than expected because the parks department has never had to deal with this before because it is a new disc golf course.

But since we have the park, keep an eye out for a registration form. I'm going to try to get it posted on here by the end of the day and it will just be mailed to me once it's filled out.

After the entry forms have been mailed to me, I'm going to put them up on discgolfscene.com, there people will be able to see who has registered. I might be able to have people pay via paypal if they want, but it will probably carry a $1-2 charge.

Tell everyone you know about the tournament.:trophy:

I have another question for ya'll.

Do you think it would be fine for Ams to be payed in Next Adventure Scrip even though the tournament is in Dallas. I have a feeling that most people will be coming from the Portland area so I figured it would be ok.

Just thought I'd ask though to be sure.

Are we going to be able to spend the scrip won at the tournament? I was thinking about coming up but don't live in the portland area.

runnaman
January 26th, 2010, 05:15 PM
I don't think they will have discs there to buy if that's what you're asking. I could ask for you though. I think most people would like that.

Does anyone know of anyother places that would do scrip and bring discs?

Will age-protected divisions such as Juniors or Masters be offered?

runnaman
January 26th, 2010, 07:00 PM
We don't have age protected divisions because having extra divisions requires getting more trophies, but if you get enough for a division (3 people), I'll probably add it.

runnaman
January 26th, 2010, 08:57 PM
Ok, we need some more help:

We are going to need 6 portable baskets for the tournament.

And a BBQ and possibly someone to BBQ, we might have someone, not sure yet, but we definitely need a BBQ.

runnaman
January 27th, 2010, 10:13 AM
If you would like to compete in an age protected division (Advanced Masters, Open Masters), write that on your registration form and if, when the tournament comes around, there are not enough people for a division, I'll refund the difference at that time.

Just talked to the guy with the other two baskets. He says no problem as long as there are cable lock to secure them so they don't get lifted. Also I am about 2 hours away so what time do you need them that morning?

runnaman
February 1st, 2010, 08:03 PM
I'm not sure what you mean by cable lock? Do they need to be next to a tree or a fence to lock them to? If that's the case, we could probably get a long chain or something to lock it to a nearby tree or fence.

Check in/registration is at 8am and the players meeting is at 9:30, so anytime before the player's meeting is fine, but I'd like them in sooner in case people want to practice.

So I found out today that in order to do payouts at the tournament, I can't turn in money to the school account, because they won't let me take it out. blah blah blah, legality bull.

In short, checks must now be made out to me, I will hold it until the tournament (or you can just pay day of), then after all monies has been awarded, I will turn the rest in to the account.

So to recap, checks must be made out to "Chase Estep"

Thanks Gawain,

I know some people are going to be at the Memorial, but for those of you that are not going, this is sure to be a lot of fun. As I've mentioned before, we'll have a free BBQ dinner, tons of raffle prizes (including the signed teebird posted two posts up), and an awesome course with 6 temporary holes put in just for this tournament.

Reg is printed and will be in the mail in the morning.

If you plan on sending in your registration via snail mail, I would suggest putting it in the mail no later than Tuesday, just to be safe. I would hate for someone to send in there registration and me not get it.

I'll be sending an email out to everyone that pre-registered on thursday or friday with the schedule, map of the course, and a few other things.

Where is Tournament Central being set up?
Where would you prefer everyone to park?

runnaman
February 28th, 2010, 03:33 PM
I will put all of this in the players email sent out later this week.

Tournament central will be between holes 2 and 3, there's a big parking lot there and by hole 1 so anywhere is good.

Good question. I hadn't thought of telling people that.

Also, the address for the park is

690 SW Branvold Dr.
Dallas, Or 97338

There are two sections to this park. One with play sets and one with the disc golf course, make sure you're at the right one.

Directions from Highway 99:

Turn on to Clown Corner Rd and continue for 4.2 miles
Merge onto Uglow Ave and continue for .6 miles
Turn right onto SW Levens St. and continue for .4 miles
Park is over the bridge on the left.

Once again, the driving directions will be in the player email sent out on Thursday and Friday, but here they are again:

The address for the park is

690 SW Brandvold Dr.

I had a little difficulty Googling that address, until I spelled it "Branvold" instead of "Brandvold". Here 's a Google link:

http://maps.google.com/maps?hl=en&q=SW+Branvold+Dr,+Dallas,+Polk,+Oregon+97338&ie=UTF8&cd=1&geocode=FQmIrQId00Gm-A&split=0&sll=37.0625,-95.677068&sspn=23.875,57.630033&hq=&hnear=SW+Branvold+Dr,+Dallas,+Polk,+Oregon+97338&t=h&z=16

(No guarantee that this is the RIGHT part of Branvold though; there are 2 places where it enters the park, you'll see on the map.)

Working on the scores, but I just counted the money and we raised $895 for the club after paying out $543. Thank you all very much.

Scores will posted sometime in the future.

Chase, when here a timeline to begin getting the course back in the ground let us all know so we can come down and help. Also if they decide to do concrete pads at Dallas we can get a crew there to do the work.

Thanks again for all of your hard work. AND thank your family for their help today.

Bob

Will do

Oh, and scores are posted on here (http://www.discgolfscene.com/tournaments/First_Annual_Wild_Wolf_Fundraiser_Tournament_2010)

I couldn't add the ace because it won't let me choose a hole past hole #9 for some reason.

Well, the final count says we had 62 people at the tournament. I want to thank you all for coming out to support the Western Oregon Disc Golf club. We also raised almost $900.

One last thing, as I mentioned above, we forgot to raffle off the disc signed by Avery and Valarie Jenkins. I feel really bad about this and would like to give it away, so if people are ok with me putting everyone's name in a hat and picking one, I'll do that.

Another option would be to auction it off, but I'd like some other people's opinions.

Just hold on to it and give it away at your next event.

3: How was the raffle? Was there good prizes?

4: How smooth was it run? Could it have been better?

5: Where the payouts good? Where they fair?

I think you should refer to the club as WOUDGC (Western Oregon University Disc Golf Club), to avoid confusion with the WDGC, Willamette Disc Golf Club from Corvallis.

Great tournament, and thanks for the photos!
