They have arrived and are now available...
"The MILO is available only at www.keenfootwear.com and is available in men’s sizes 7.5-14. While this is only available in a men’s version currently, we’ll be producing a women’s specific version if we’re able to sell through and prove the market."
Help get the word out about the New disc golf shoe!!

I'd never buy a shoe without trying it on. How is it that Keen doesn't have a "factory showroom" in the Pearl?

i already ordered a pair... i tried on a few keens at REI, everyone of them I was a size 9 comfortably so hopefully size 9 MILO is perfect.. Just get it so they will be a bigger sponsor to the game in the future...

Sure, I'll just throw down $110 on a pair of shoes I may or may not like, because Keen needs some moral support. :rolleyes2:

I don't think they're going to mail you a pair to demo. Better put down the mouse and head to the shoe store....

Sure, except: "The MILO is available only at www.keenfootwear.com..." Which isn't surprising; if I were a retailer I wouldn't stock such a niche product.

2 things; Adam gets his discs online from a company in another state without feeling them, ;)
2nd is, yeah, Adam brings up an interesting idea, Keen HQ in portland, why not allow disc golfers to stop by and try on a few pairs, probably help sell more Milo's faster?

2 things; Adam gets his discs online from a company in another state without feeling them,
2 things: (1) most discs feel pretty similar, and I don't have to walk around all day on them. (2) discs don't cost $110.

I love Keens, have 5 pair, but I've never liked shoes with the waterproof lining, sure the keep water out, and keep the sweat in, nice name though. Adam. you're wearing those toe shoes right?? LOL

When was the last time you've tried some? I'm not sure about the KEEN.DRY™ but Columbia's Omni-Tech® is the best stuff since sliced bread. My shoes kept me dry in the summer, letting the sweat breathe like a regular shoe. They are now keeping me dry in the winter. Out at Dabney I was dry walking through the wet grass all day. It wasn't until I stepped in the wrong place in a bog and water went in over the top that my feet got wet. Even then by the end of the round all of that moisture was gone. I went to change socks before I left and the ones I took off were hardly damp at all.

I'm a big fan of the Keen Dry system. I played golf all summer in a pair of Wasatch Crest WP's, and my feet were always dry at the end of the round, even on those 95+ degree days.

my colmbia shoes - $50 from woodburn outlet mall... my merrell's - $55 from Folsom Lake outlet mall.... has columbia or merrell sponsored disc golf? (yes i know vibram makes the soles on merrell)... it's like an investment with keen, the more we invest, the more we get back... why buy something that never gives anything back to you?

I have the Keen Shell Rock Waterproof shoes. They've been the best shoes I've ever owned! Totally dry in a heavy rain. I bought them from Ryan for 70 bucks, he won them at Incredi-Bowl and they didn't fit. I've seen them on Amazon for 80 bucks, so, if you shop around you might find a Keen deal.
Someone needs to call Adam's Boss and tell them he's stealing company time! With all the company time you stole, Adam, you should have enough to buy all of us a set of new MILOs! :cop:

I'm on it...
Adam: Hey boss, Adam's been spending a lot of time on the local disc golf forum.
Adam: Really? That lazy bastard! Call him in here!
Adam: You wanted to see me, boss?
Adam: You're fired!

...WAIT, while you've got Adam in the office, talk to him about his attitude too.
Tell him if he spent more time earning money, instead of forum posting, he could afford some Keens, and wouldn't have to be the outlet mall junky he is.

I actually buy most of my shoes at REI... and every pair of Keens I've tried on there was horribly uncomfortable. I'd be nervous enough buying any shoes by mail-order, but especially a brand I've had bad luck with in the past.

Good point. The only real comparison I could make would be between my pile of old Bite shoes, and my new Keens. Keens win. But, Fred Meyer bags would probably keep my feet dryer and more comfortable than the Bite shoes. The Keen Shell Rock shoes are great, except, the rubber toe isn't insulated and gets my toes kinda cold. I hope they've insulated the toe better in the new MILOs.

I believe the Milos are built on the same platform as the Shellrocks, if anyone wants to try to gauge the sizing.

No way, they don't look anything like the Shellrock. They do look suspiciously like the "Wasatch Crest," though.

I just returned a 3 year old pair of Vasque Clarion GTX boots to REI because they started leaking. They gave me a brand new pair of Keen Growlers and $10.00.
Thank you, Jim!!!!!!!!!!

They look white in the picture Adam posted, but, if they are light grey, they're still gonna be tough to keep clean.

Best to take 'em and rub dirt all over 'em when you get 'em. Then you can forget about that and enjoy yourself.

If I'm seeing this right, Keen is using the same mold for different shoes and giving them different names in the hope that they sell more shoes. Hard to believe this kind of thing would happen in disc golf.
Read the above statement but replace the word "shoes" with "discs".

Ummmm the same thing happens in just about every other sport, why would disc golf deserve its own special shoe like no other? They modified the shoe based on feedback and sport demand, now we need to buy it and provide more feedback, simple as that... oh yeah my shoes should arrive today, omg omg omg...

What modifications were made? If they advertised and labeled them as "1st Run", I bet they'd sell like hotcakes...
One year later, on the buy/sell/trade:

holey moley just got my shoessssss.... and its not white for sure... more of a soft grey, like a silver grey... will post shoe pictures soon...
Well, I am not sure what Keen's goals and objectives were with this shoe, it feels great, looks great, however, no matter how tight i wear it, there is an obvious lack of feel for ankle support and allows for a larger than normal ankle range of motion in any direction. If this was one of their goals then they did a good job, if not, then ouch. I'll be testing these babies out in a few days... and will try to post pictures tonight or tmw...

A few things I liked
comfortable
warm
good grip
stayed dry in the rain (light)
lace up system

I have been wearing my new shoes non stop... the ankle thing is obvious, I can lace up tightly and still be able to take off my shoe with 50% effort, the back part of the ankle is pretty much free. The shoe is comfy and the cushioning on the heel is superb.

Okay, more review here... I'm one of those people where if the lace is too tight on the top of my foot, not the ankle, it tends to lose circulation, but with this shoe, you have to wear it tight or you have completely no ankle support so i lose out on support to have ciruclation.... i wore these shoes in a snowing parking lot for a few minutes and the black plastic bled color onto the light gray material, something I think they should have caught in their first water test... oh well.

I have had my milos since christmas and I wasn't too sure about them right away. After a bit of wear they have grown on me. I have played with my shoes untied so the loose ankle doesn't bother me too much. I tighten them down near the toes and keep them kind of loose up top. They are pretty comfy for me. So far they have kept my toes dry but I haven't soaked them yet. They did bleed a bit and I am sure that it will only get worse but big deal, they are for function not fashion. I am afraid the sole is going to blow out because it is two pieces but it seems sturdy enough.
Anybody on the fence I would recommend you give them a try. The pros of keen's continued support of disc golf far outway the cons of their first attempt in my opinion. Check 'em out.

lovin' mine so far. been playin' with them for over a month now. they're super water proof and comfy! i'm around 260 so we shall see if they withstand the test of time and heavy wear. got em for free on a lucky pro deal though and I don't think I'd pay over 90 for a new pair.
