In his prematch interview tonight John Cena mentioned something about "frisbee golf tournaments." I'm not sure exactly what he said as I was falling asleep on the couch. This is the first time I have ever heard our sport mentioned on TV, I thought it was interesting, I wonder if he plays or knows someone who plays? I will try to find a a clip of it on youtube. Just thought I would mention it you guys, and yes I watch Pro Wrestling. :p

I found a transcript, Cena mentions it briefly in what appears to be a joke...

something to the effect of, we can't be friends, no frisbee golf for us!

I've been waiting for someone in a fake sport to validate our sport on TV. Now I feel much better.

Backstage: They showed WWE champion John Cena for the first time tonight. Cena plugged the big main event coming up next with his usual "super announcer voice." Cena said it's DX - friends for life and always with something to sell you. Cena said Undertaker seemed like such an obvious choice for a partner, but realized it's difficult to talk to him because he might actually be dead. Suddenly, a stagehand walked over and handed Cena a note. Cena said he doesn't believe it. This can't be real, he said. Cena relayed the message that he's made a mistake. Survivor Series isn't a handicap match with Cena vs. DX, but a triple threat match. That means there won't be a Frisbee golf tournament, no glowstick party, but if Triple H and Shawn Michaels want to know if he's ready, then his answer is yes. Cena said the ring has four corners and DX is just fooling themselves because they will have to make a choice. He said he hopes DX stays friends because they're going to need a shoulder to lean on when they realize the...champ...is...here.

Yeah, pro rassling should bring in a highly intelligent following. Could be a great leap forward. I'm going out right now and set up folding chairs all around the course.

I wouldn't look at that way Parks, any publicity is a good thing, especially for something as popular as the WWE, how many people will pay hundreds of dollars to watch Disc Golf?

Dion, thanks for the link.

Maybe next time I go up to the tee for a drive someone is going to hit me over the head with a steel chair. :)

Okay I guess I can have some fun with it too. :nahnah:

I wuz just thinking about whether people will suspend disbelief when reading our scorecards. At any rate, we're going to need some real crowd favorites to win the majors to keep the ratings up. I think I'm gunna love the fog machines at the front of the tees. It's gunna look awesome!

With all the course work over the years to get things as they are here, I'm hoping we don't get noticed by the monster truck guys.

Hehe, I was thinking along the same lines. In order to draw more attention to the sport, I think it should a stipulation that anybody rated 1000+ should have to adopt an alter ego and wear a unique costume. We already have "Ron the Whip", and Jay "Yeti" Reading. How about Ken "The Radar" Climo, Avery "Juice" Jenkins, Nikko "The Brat" Locastro, etc.? On a more local note, we could have Nate "The Ninja" Sexton, Brody "Dark Horse" Miller, Chandler "Manimal" Fry, Ed "The Finger" Doppelmayr, Big Mike as himself....I think there's potential here!

Just wait, WWE will start using Champion or Elite Z plastic to bash in people's heads instead of chairs. I've taken discs and chairs to the head before and hands down a hard snapped drive hurts a ton more to the dome then a fold old flimsy chair.

Disc Golf, it's the next next extreme sport (next to midget rodeo's)
