Yeah, but not everybody bagged out there! There were some really nice scores AND some PB's shot...you know who you are!

For the rest of the matches I am going to institute an anti-bagging measure for ratings adjustments this season. If your round rating is 50 points (or more) below your rating, your current rating gets doubled before adding the new rating and dividing by 3.
Normally your current rating just gets added to your round rating and is divided by 2.

I agree! There's no way that my 61 is a 914 round.

:shooting: Shenanigans!

His rule doesn't apply to rounds rated above your current rating. So you don't get a break with your 914 round. :(

I also wanted to point out that the ratings for this last weekend are inflated, big time. I shot a +2 on Saturday and it was rated 953. Not! More like 923. WTF?

Jordan,
I plead with you to use a rating system which weights your current rating way more than 50%. What was wrong with last year's method? Didn't the current rating get around 80% weight? Something like:

new rating = ((old rating * 4) + new round) / 5

All of the spreadsheets are posted at teamdiscgolf.com so go take a look for yourself. The reason those rounds are so inflated is due to the bagging. When many players play below their rating the 'normal' round rating is elevated.

As far as the ratings formula is concerned, I am aiming for easiest to implement this year. Taking the average of the 2 adjacent cells works even if the player had no rated round.

I expect the ratings to be a rollercoaster each team has to deal with week to week. Play determines handicap.:pirate:
