In an effort to curb popular event conflicts and others, perhaps we could post dates for next years events.
This could be a tool that we and Mike could use while trying to organize so many gigs.

Heh, this is a "good idea", presenting our desired schedules without confirming...
I am hoping that there is 1-2 weeks in between the masters cup in santa cruz and the BSF in 2010 because I want to host a tournament in between that will serve several purposes. So my goal is to host a tournament between these NT's.
Where: Jerry Miller DGC @ Camp Taloali
When: May between Masters Cup and BSF
Format: 2 18 hole courses, 2 rounds each course.
PDGA Sanctioned: Charity Fundraiser Tier C
Lodging: 10 cabins with 4 bunk beds *8 beds*, unlimited camping, 2-3 trailer hookups. *Dirt Cheap...
Showers: 5 shower cubicles per gender and 3-4 bathroom stalls per gender. *Portajohns will be ordered if over 100 players*

CSI the first weekend in April 3-4
Jet Wash third weekend in August
Maybe the idea should be to submit traditional dates to Stern ASAP then they can be sorted out.

Here are all the weekends in 2010 I'd like to have all to myself:
March 27 and 28 or April 3 and 4: April Fool's Doubls and Related Singles B Tier
September 25 and 26: Willamette Open A Tier (Am B Tier)
Summer Weekends- I'll need to find at least three of them, one in June, July, and August: Willamette Open Qualifiers
Since those are going to be one day events (and usually on a Sunday since I have that day off) here are the possible dates for the three qualifiers:
June 6, 13, 20, 27, July 4, 11, 18, 25, August 1, 8, 15, 22, 29
There!

nothing wrong with the younger generation wanting to spend their energy on the operations of Disc Golf, heck I'm the "todd andrews/brian graham" of the DDGA and I just turned a late 20's number which I havent accepted just of yet... There are enough older and wiser disc golfers available to guide the younger generation TD's and whatnot high positions into making good decisions and holding our tongue at times heh. All it takes is the right type of leadership and strong support system.

It already seems there are going to be conflicts because every tom dick and harry wants to run there event in August. JW is in it's 6Th year on the same weekend. I believe Cali is also at 5 or 6 years but it has not been on the same weekend.

With the release of the PDGA schedule for Majors and NT's, it is NOW time to start the scheduling process for 2010.
ALL TD's in OREGON who wish to hold a PDGA event should contact me ASAP so that you may recieve the dates that you desire on the schedule.

It seems that the Calapooia Classic has been moved back a weekend which would conflict with our standing date. I would like to hold this event the 2nd weekend in August if Calapooia is going to be the 3rd. Disc Golf Oregon and the NW Disc Golf Alliance are joining forces for this event. For all of those who made it out in 2009 they know how nice it was at Whistler's. There is nothing better than floating the river and camping under the stars. Correct me if I am wrong but isn't there already a BYOP NW Doubles? Don't you think players will be confused by these same named events. Aug - Sept and you want players to attend. Maybe you should look at the saturation level of events at that time of the year. Maybe July or Oct or early in the season like April might be better or at least better attended.

I think what bruce means is that for a doubles tournament, you usually want to have a longer and more tougher course to make it challenging for doubles format, but with horning's new 3rd course in place, that satisfies that requirement... so bruce, go out to hornings for 2 days, play all 3 courses, come back and see what you say then...

Sumner Meadows will not be a doubles event this year. It will be a C-tier that plays two rounds with 13 holes each round.
The Chilly Smack Challenge and Phantom Dubs shouldn't be a problem. It's a new tradition, but I have been running these events on the first weekend in December each year and plan on continuing with that weekend in the future.

Is there a calendar that is easier to look at than Treeloves? His is great for specific dates, but for overall scheduling I need something more like California schedule above. We here in Idaho are trying to get things on the calendar before year end.

The tournament i planned for may 8-9 weekend is now 15-16. For some reason I had assumed mother's day to be the 16th... Glad I caught myself now... so
It's on the 15th-16th....
Now I just need 2-3 volunteers to help do some of the pre-event coordination/planning, if you interested in knowing more, pm me... There will be incentives for the volunteers. And volunteers will be able to play...

December 14th, 2009, 03:09 PM
The Zoo Town Open in Missoula MT will be better than ever this year, it'll either be on May 15-16 or the Japan Open weekend (june 10-12). Reason for the uncertainty is that the local forest service refuses to consider scheduling of events on our courses until the 1st of the new year. We'd love to see plenty of folks from the coastal states make it, only 7 hrs from seattle, 8 from portland...

Hey Magilla. I think the weekend you have down for the 2010 Eugene Celebration is wrong. The 4-5th of September is Labor Day weekend and that is off limits for a tournament at Dexter due to the heavy park use. We normally have been the weekend after Labor Day. That would make it the weekend of Sept 11-12, 2010. If you've already been in contact with Rebecca and heard this already, ignore my ramblings. Our first EDGC meeting in January will decide who is going to be TD and an official decision on the date.

I haven't been paying attention. 2 months overdue? That is strange.....We will have to talk about why it took so long. I hope it will have been turned in before the next meeting.

call an emergency meeting?
Well....before we can schedule an emergency meeting we have to have a meeting to discuss the scheduling of the emergency meeting and who can host it and what day and time. Then there's a flurry of memo's and emails. Then a re-sending of emails to correct an error in a time or date.
I'm getting tired just thinking about the implications. Time for a nap.

Umpqua Valley Championship
It seems that the Calapooia Classic has been moved back a weekend which would conflict with our standing date. I would like to hold this event the 2nd weekend in August if Calapooia is going to be the 3rd. Disc Golf Oregon and the NW Disc Golf Alliance are joining forces for this event. For all of those who made it out in 2009 they know how nice it was at Whistler's. There is nothing better than floating the river and camping under the stars. I hope this won't conflict with any other events as we plan on holding a very stellar tournament. Thanks everyone,
