View Full Version : $50 REWARD - lost Eagle at Trojan

$50 to anybody that returns my blue 11x KC pro Eagle. I threw the disc into the channel of water to the right side of hole 11 at trojan. Its near the middle of the channel may be a few feet toward the highway from the middle. It looked like it hit the water about 50 feet short of #11 basket. The disc has my name and number on it. It also has shelby's name and number on it. I won it during a round with him 4+ years ago. It has been in my bag ever since. It is my absolute #1 goto driver and has been for at least 2 years. I will never throw it near water again if I get it back.

Please find my baby.

How deap is the channel at trojan?

Brian said he can touch all the way across the channel there.

He finds them with his feet...

Robin went in between rounds at 2008 RCO to look for a disc he lost and with my help we found it, the part were we looked was 2-4 feet...

That channel can get pretty deep in places and there is no gradual edge, just a drop off. I hope you can find it.

I don't think it is anymore, start looking into throwing those Glow Eagles from the 2009 BSF!

I think Brian is temporarily away from the forums serving a time out or something.

Isn't hole 10 the one by the highway where the Pro tee pad is across the pond and the Am tee pad is on the same side as the basket?

Correct.
It's possible that Brian's still reading the forums, though.

Correction:

It was hole 11 where I lost my eagle. I miscounted.

Mike - I've been throwing the BSF eagles, they fly very nicely. I'm very interested to see how they'll fly after a few years of play. But, I'm not sure they'll be able to replace my lost eagle.

#11 is the one that has water all along the right side, and a tunnel of trees waiting to deflect your disc into the murky depths.

Sean Phillips

Yep, that's the hole.

Thanks for clearing that up for me.

I'm NEVER going to play that pro tee on ten.

Scott

I'm NEVER going to play that pro tee on ten.

I think it's a much easier shot, assuming you can throw 200' reliably. Forehand, backhand, hyzer, straight, flex - it doesn't matter. Throw too hard and you've got a backstop behind you.

Sorry, but I'm a devout coward. I won't even go hyzer out around that tree on the short tee on ten.

Vastly easier - I was really bummed at the RCO when I found out that this totally accessible (even for ams) ace run had been eliminated (along with 18, which is the only hole I've aced at Trojan) I was seriously bummed.

It also made me a bit dissappointed that the ace pot was mandatory when those two holes were out of the picture. For my wimpy arm, that left 13 and maybe 14 (on a good day, with a tailwind) as ace runs, albeit both much higher risk shots.

Not that the Rose City Open was anything less than spectacular, and the two TD's did excellent work as is becoming the norm on Stumptown events.

I agree the shot along the bank is a much riskier (and sloppier when it's not summer/fall...) one than the clear and open run across the pond...

It's an easier shot than some of the shule you throw over at the mud!

I don't have gills and I will be getting up here the next morning and can go looking for my lost discs if I choose.

C'mon Bob, I'll meet you out there and let you throw one of MY discs at it...nothing like the elation of watching a shot shape out over all that water and then break for the basket!

Sorry, but I'm a devout coward.

Scott

Seriously, it's probably the easiest shot on the course. If you were throwing over a grassy field you wouldn't think twice about it. In fact, you'd probably wonder why such an easy hole was included on the course.

I cut my scores in half when I started playing Trojan super cautious. Lost one disc in the water the first time I was there and never again dunked one that couldn't be easily reached. I feel okay driving on nine, but ten-pro freaks me out.

If that's the case, you should throw the Pro 12 from this years RCO.

I spent 2 hours in that murky water today and didn't find it. There were a bunch of kids down there swimming in the clearer water and I talked them into helping me. Together we found ~10 discs, non were mine. There were 3 or so with names and numbers on them. I gave them all to the kids and their mom. The mom told me that they'd call the owners of the ones with phone numbers on them. I told them that those owners would probably offer a small reward for their discs. All the kids were totally stoked to find discs without names on them. I told them all about disc golf, hopefully they'll start playing how that they have discs.

did you happen to find a blue buzzz with a terrace creek open stamp (woodpecker carving a basket out of a tree)? that's the same place where chuck put his disc in the water last week...just about pin high.

Sean Phillips
September 12th, 2009, 07:53 PM
Hmmm. Not sure. I didn't look at all the discs very closely. If he has his name/number on it he should get a phone call.

My Eagle came back, My Eagle came back, My Eagle came back, My Eagle came back, My Eagle came back :yay::yay::yay::yay:

Great story.

Scott was at Play it again sports and saw a blueish 11x KC Pro Eagle in the used bin and bought it for $6. Saw my name on it and thought he'd call and make sure it wasn't some sentimental disc that I really wanted back. Seemingly without knowing about the $50 reward, he called and offered the disc back to me for the $6 dollars he paid for it. I gave Scott $20 and a new unmarked destroyer and Xcal for returning my disc. ~$50

Funny thing, if the &$#@ person that found my disc would have called me, he would have received a much larger reward for the disc than the $2-3 buck he got for it at Play it again sports.

Thank you Scott. :cheers::cheers::cheers:

No problem at all.

We almost had a terrific karma story to add on. As soon as I got home, Matthew and I headed to Orchard. Right before I teed off (first throw of the day), I turned to Matthew, held up the disc, and said "Watch me get an ace with this disc". The throw looked good, and it hit the chains hard, but just a little below the sweet spot and it bounced out.
