I recently lost my super beat orc, this was my roller/ anny with ease disc and I need to replace it. I am looking for a disc that comes out of the box stable to understable. I considered a leopard for this slot but I believe it is slower than I want and I simply don't throw orcs enough to beat one in to this point. Jason I know you liked the tracker and throw leopards, does it fit my bill. Any help/ advice would be appreciated.

I think the Tracker is a much slower disc than the Orc, and it's not all that understable. I use my Leopard for right-turning fairway shots and my Tracker for straight-to-left fairway shots. (I'm talking about 250-footers here.)

If you're thinking about Discraft, consider an Avenger SS.

Monarch is my roller disc. It's amazing so far. I can throw nice 350+ ft anny shots with it too.

What about a Beast? It's the understable one of the Orc family.

Beast, Roadrunner or Sidewinder

It is faster than the Leopard with similar stability, but they get a little inconsistent after beating in. But hey, take what I say with a grain of salt as I have yet to develop a decent roller.

Please note that I have only thrown an X and Proto Tracker. I have heard that the Z-Tracker is much more overstable as compared to X and Proto so this may be exactly what you are looking for. I have a few Z-Trackers in my collection and would be happy to let you throw one if we ever cross paths. Will you be at the Hobit Huck this weekend?

I haven't considered the new beasts for this role, I might have to give them a try. I do plan on making it to the huck, I will look for you there if you wouldn't mind bringing a tracker or two buy (proto included) I would appreciate it.

Cool. I will toss a few trackers in my bag tonight.

The Avenger SS, Monarch, and the Assassin would all seem to be pretty good candidates for an "off the shelf" roller...

The new boss is pretty flippy... you might want to try one of those...

I am not just looking for a roller, more important to me is a disc that I can throw straight with low power for 330' to 430', add a little power to and throw a turnover 330' to 430', and throw hard and snap down a roller. I can flip a trex into a roller if I need to I just don't want to have to power a disc over like I normally do on my teebirds. I think I will wait on the boss until the kinks are ironed out.

Yes, not consistent and a little slow.

How about a Devil Hawk?

If you give me an Orc I can beat it in for you. I have an uncanny ability to hit trees. :dancing:

Are you going to the huck? I have two or three I will loan you, no need to return unless you beat them in real well.

It's not looking good for me to be able to make it on Saturday. Unless our offer from tonight is accepted by tomorrow evening, I will be spending the weekend driving around looking at houses.

I will be doing team disc golf so if you want to give them to someone who will see me there I can spend all winter throwing them into the trees for you.

An Avenger SS would definitely be my recommendation. Most versatile/most used disc in my bag. When powered up they turn/anny/roll/hyzer flip like no other. Power them down and they will hold a frozen rope of a line or a gentle flat hyzer. Long tight wooded holes? Have no fear-the SS will cut through the trees like they're made of butter. Also very useful for stand and deliver shots especially when you can't get full power because of your lie, footing etc. They beat in nicely in esp and consistently age/cycle through the bag. I have 2 in my bag at all times and still carry the first one I bought. Too many good things about this disc to list.:D

proto something or other

I had a Cryztal Avenger SS that I was excited to try. It was fairly stable, not flippy, and I really had to force it to turn over. Are the SS's you're throwing made of X plastic? Or ESP? Maybe I was just throwing the wrong kind..?

My SS's are ESP. They're only ran in ESP and Crystal plastics. The crystal SS's are more stable as is the general rule for that plastic. Discraft is currently phasing out their X line and have already discontinued the Predator, Challenger etc in that plastic.

Just to stem any possible confusion, they are also made in FLX, which, is a type of ESP plastic.

Like I said ESP and Crystal PLASTICS. Plural!- Meaning multiple types in those plastics-Just to stem any possible confusion they are also made in Crystal FLX which is a type of Crystal plastic FYI. Along with-
ESP FLX Avenger SS
ESP Avenger SS
Crystal Avenger SS
Absolutely hilarious responses on this board! Taking anything positive and turning it something negative/smart ass appears to be an art form on here.:biggrin2:

Nothing smarmy or smart ass was intended. Some peoples are more Innova based, and may not be as familiar with Discraft to the point of knowing that FLX is an ESP type of plastic. And, as you pointed out, Cryztal as well. I am nothing but positive when it comes to an Avenger SS. I usually carry three or four along with me!
