The Fort Steilacoom Autumn Tradition has been on the PDGA schedule with no info for a while now. Now, at just three and a half weeks away, Ray Antoon has informed the club that he will not be running this event. I have accepted the role of running this event.
It will be September 19th & 20th with a max field of 144 players. PDGA B-tier event.
I will get a flyer to Gawain in the next 48 hours.
This event will be fantastic. I already have a descent crew of people ready to help and the courses are currently in good shape.
Keep your eyes and ears peeled for more info, it’s coming soon.

Awesome. I have never played a tournament at Steily and was planning on this tournament being my first one. Glad to hear it's gonna go through as planned.

You are such a stand up guy Mike. With you at the helm this ship can't sail off course. Thanks should also be extended to the TDGPA for their diligent efforts to keep this one afloat. Damit the club did something good now I have to re-up my club membership.
Rob was right something good has come out of this mess and we are stronger because of it.

Awesome Mike. I have not made a single Steily event this year and wanted my chance to play this awesome course. Thank you for keeping this alive and I am sure you will have a strong showing from the Oregon area peeps as well.

Online registration is officially open on the PDGA website.
It will actually close on the 17th, not the 18th like I had previously posted.

I can't wait to come out and play this event, it'll be my first Steilly event and first (non-Leverich) Washington tournament, I figure if Steilly is my new home course I better come out and size up my new competition.:D:seeya:

I noticed that Dion is registered for both this event and Incredibowl. I can't wait to see how the Whip pulls this one off. :chinscratch:

I have a couple of questions about this event as I am trying to make the decision between Steilly and Mt. Hood.
Is there a WA series this year?
If yes what are the points standings?
Is this event part of the WA series?
How many events are needed to qualify?
Thanks for the info, and thanks to Mike for running this event.

Chuck posted this a while back in the wash state sugg thread
At the expense of continuing a thread drift, my calculations are:
Top-down scoring from 100
Average all WA series event points
Add Ironman points, 2 per event played beyond the 5 needed to qualify
That method produces:
Open Men
100.17 Mike Leslie
99.2 Nate Sexton
98.86 Mike Werth
Chandler, Ed D., Aaron Holley, Kirk McAllister, Orion, Heath Kinton
Tuffi is the only player still able to qualify if she plays the Autumn Classic
Advanced
94.86 Chris Gilberts
94.80 Jesse Garcia
94.33 Shawn Landry
Jamie Richards, Steve McLain, Jeremy Craig, ....
better place higher than Jesse at Steilly, Chris- that's a slim lead!
other leaders:
Masters Kevin Holmes
GM Stimpi
Adv Masters Todd Bates
Adv Grands are you kidding me? Should be leading Adv, at least
Int Rahn Henderson
Int Women Jenni Saunders
We don't really show any "qualifying" juniors, but Jordan Craig and Spencer have played some good golf this year.

Can I register for this the day of the tourney, or do I have to pre Reg through PDGA. A friend and I will be near there for the weekend and want to play. Thanks.

I don't know if Mike will accept day of reg, but I do know it is a lot less hassle for him if you pre reg. And your already at the computer!

All direct questions on this forum should have been answered by now in a PM, but if I have missed someone, let me know and I will be prompt to reply.
We are just about to half capacity right now. If this tourney isn’t full, I will not turn anybody away on Saturday morning.
The course looks spectacular.

Dion/Ron the Whip is soooooooo fast he can run around the world and slap himself in the back of the head. I'm sure he can also play disc golf at two tournaments at the same time.

I’m not sure if it was Dion Arlyn or Ron The Whip, but I heard he is nine feet tall and aced two holes, each over 460 feet, in just one summer.

Are there any sports bars sponsoring the tourney? i.e., can anyone suggest a good place to watch the Giants/Cowboys after awards are over on Sunday?

Congratulations Paul Wright! You are now officially the Washington Bagger in the Adv masters division equalled only by Elliott in Oregon. But seriously, good job and look forward to the next one.

Didn't I see Paul play open and take 6th not long ago, a good sized field as well, must not be accepting cash, too bad there's not intermediate divisions for groups of age, especially when most people in these groups don't have an advanced rating, and Jeff's bagging has went a little further in the adv. grandmaster division , :cool2:
