Just a heads up, we are looking to have these events either Oct.10th and 11th or Oct. 17th and 18th.
Northwest doubles is usually played the Saturday at lakewood and sea tac.
State dubs is held Sunday at steilly.
NW will be run by Gordy and Gibson.
State is being run by Mike Cain and Chris Waugh.
Details still need to be worked out but I would like to get some excitement for these great events going now. Always fun, always worth while!

unless this is the same weekend as the tourney in Cornwall that Mike Leslie is running you can count on us being there. In my opinion these are the 3 best courses in the greater Seattle area and a chance to play all 3 in one weekend is a must go!!!

Does anyone have Chris Waugh's phone number? I need to get ahold of him so we can decide on the dates for doubles.
I tried a PM to him, but haven't heard back.

Thanks,
Gibson

What a bunch of ****! Are you guys ever going to get it together? Normally WA/NW is on the last weekend in Sept Now it's the middle of Oct. WTF. I was trying to organize a Ball Golf course on the 17th-18 But NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO! This really means we need to get it together and keep events on their traditional weekends. Again WTF

This has been posted for awhile now. You could have voiced your opinion earlier and it could have influenced the decision. Sorry jub.

Funny, When I saw The Kid on Sun I was under the impression WA/NW was on the 10th/11th because we talked about this. I spoke to Kilmer a couple weeks ago about his baskets and he and I decided that the weekend of the 17th was the best. 3-4 too soon, 10-11 WA/NW, Halloween Tim and A BIG party, 24-25 Saturation weekend.

Mike and I discussed these two weekends and were leaning toward the 10th & 11th but had to coordinate with gibson and gordy. A date was never set until yesterday. Sorry for the miscomunication gibson and I were unaware of your plans.

I dont think its worst shot except on the drive. According to gibson's post it says that the first round will be worst drive not worst shot..........is that a misprint? There is a difference for sure.

Tough conditions this year for the NW Doubles. It was hard to hear the information at the player's meeting over the pounding of the rain on the roof of the shelter at Lakewood. SeaTac was much better with the umbrellas only coming out for the last 3 holes.

Here are the cashing places for both divisions offered:

Pro (10 teams participated) worst drive first round at Lakewood:

1st: Score 98. Mike Cain and Chris Waugh (birdied 7 of the first 9 holes at SeaTac and then parred out for a doubles course record -7!).
2nd: Score 102. Scott Papa and Chad Kozlowski (leaders after the first round after shooting an amazing -5 in worst drive at Lakewood in brutal conditions).
3rd: Score 103. Mike Leslie and Ed Dopplemeyer (wow, Ed can throw far).

Advanced (14 teams participated):

1st: Score 98. Bob and Kenny
2nd: Score 102. Thor and Kyle
3rd: Score 103. Josh and Oz
Three-way tie for 4th: Score 107. Bill and Brett, Vertical ID (Dalaiwood kids?), Zach and Brandon.

Thanks to everyone who braved the elements. Hopefully the weather will be more kind next year. Sounds like the pros enjoyed the worst drive at Lakewood so we'll see if Chris and Mike will continue with that idea next year.

Thanks for running this Gibson and Gordy. I was impressed with the turnout given the conditions--I'll admit it crossed my mind to just stay home. I guess it occurred to the Sex Whip too? ;)

Again, good shooting Mike and Chris, you guys have definitely become "the team to beat." Just how many 1st place finishes does Green Light have now?

And wtf, my partner didn't tell me he was talking smack on the internet before the tourney. That explains a lot.:laughing:

State info coming soon.

Thanks Tim!
We have been playing together since mid-late 2007 and I think we have won probably 9 out of 12 or something stupid like that. I can think of 3 losses off the top of my head. Mike and I play together all the time and have since I started playing so we play very well together.

Yeah it was pretty crazy you put those guys on that tee 100 more times and that will neverhappen again. The round (up until then) was solid for sure with Ed and I trading blows on the tee and Mike and Mike in a putting duel. Good times.
