Yes, and it needs a name. It has a 3-point splitter so the campers will have split firewood this time. Quail brush quakes in it's presence.
Six-foot feild grass lays down in surrender. Gordy.

Regarding the pairs event on Friday prior to the tourny, I'm hearing alot of requests for that to be held on the Final '10' lay-out. That means I have to get that lay-out together soon. If you want to help me with that step up soon. I have in mind something that will be very spectator-accsesible and still very 'bomberish' There's nothing like a new look to make them say WTF. Gordy.

What about AC? I heard Tom had it out 'jumping stumps" Count me in on the pairs 10 set up.

I'm looking forward to City Cup this year!! I just signed up online and was wondering what time the gates will be open Friday to set up camp and get ready for Doubles?

Also a reminder to anyone planning to sign up...DO IT BEFORE Aug 28th to avoid a late fee and NO REGS taken on Saturday Sept. 5th.

Can't wait!!

Chump Challange was INWS event #9. That was your last chance to qualify for the INWS Overalls. You must have participated in at least 4 of the regular events to compete for your share of the now $3800+ Overalls Purse. No wonder so many golfers paid the $10 late fee at the C. Challange only realizing late last Sat morning that their chance to get that CRUCIAL 4th event was fleeing. Remember, you need not be an INWS Qualifer to play the City Cup; it is also a straight-up-minimum $500-added cash-B-tier. With few exceptions all players will experience the Hawk, the Porcupine and Cape Fear . See you there, Gordy.

Here are the people that qualified for the Overall payout at the City Cup. Each division is divided into two boxes. The top box contains the top 50% that will receive prizes after the City Cup points are added.

Four Mound will be open both Sat. & Sun this weekend From 11: am to 7: pm on Sat. and from 10:00 am till 7: pm on Sunday. There will be no late fees assesed and registered players will get a buck off for their car. It is very dry right now so there will be no smoking on the courses. The tee box signs have all been removed for City Cup updating but each course is almost completely guided with green-to-following-tee-color coded flagging. Try out the new foot-soaker for between rounds. $5/car so wise up and car-pool. Gordy.

The PDGA online registration page for the :trophy:Spokane City Cup:trophy: will close at midnight on Wednesday Sept. 2, 2009.

Due to the fact that there have been four tournaments in the last four weeks we realize that this may have put a financial hardship on some if not most competitors. We are thus going to waive the $10 late fee completely for all players. We will however not be taking registrations on Saturday morning. To register call 509 991-1807.

I will be out at Four Mound at noon on Friday to take last chance registrations.

I believe we will be blessed :yay: on Sat. & Sun. with temps in the lower to mid 70's.

The stack of pre-cut and split firewood :biggrin2: is growing ever larger.

Food and beverages :chug: are being arranged.

Campgrounds :wink2: are ready.

The fairways are :dancing: looking better than ever.

The Final Ten layout has some :shooting:newly created and  groomed holes.

This will be the best :cheerleader: Spokane City Cup :cheerleader: to date.

Sign up for pairs before 4:00 to get a chance to play this Showcase course. You need to be a registered Cup participant to for your team to cash in this special event. The purse for the overall finalists has exceeded $4400. Out of this the Pro allocation will exceed $1800. The balance of $2600 is for all the friggn ams. The B-tier Pro added cash has reached $900. This money will be allocated proportionally to the respective pro divs. according to PDGA payout Standards, ie. each cash place will get their fair share.

Here ya go, check out the driving directions and google map link: http://www.nwdiscgolfnews.com/forum/showthread.php?t=2452

Also, just as a heads up, if you happen to be a smoker, prepare yourself ahead of time with some dip or something, as there's no smoking allowed on the course (and no stores too terribly close by).

I haven't heard all the details but I got out and about for an hour on Sunday and took a few pics. Great Tourny? It all depends on your perspective. Then I guess that's what you'd say. Best of luck, Chandler, at the USDGC. Gordy.:trophy:

Since I didn't really get to talk much to a lot of folks this past week-end, I would really enjoy hearing from any of you about anything from the event that stood out in your mind or was otherwise memorable. Its still just kind of a 72-hour blur to me. I remember the CTP Final was the easiest impossible shot this year. I remember Mark Schaffer losing his disc in the middle of a mowed green fairway in a gopher dirt-pile. I remember sadly having to go to the bottom of the hole on Cape Fear and not deucing all week-end. When the Sudden Death Play-off started I offered Nate and Chandler the option of continuing on the less ardous Porcupine and then yeilding to Nate's insistance that the designated Final 10 circuit was required. I won't forget Nate's solo walk around the back side of the pond after the final hole. Thanks for all these and a thousand more. Gordy #21004.:trophy:

Gordy, Jaymie, SDGA and Bob n company. Thank you for a great weekend of tournament disc golf. The Pro Masters division for this event was great. Some of the best from Idaho, Washington and Montana played off for the prize $ and series $ and City cup name status. I got two out of the three:waaah: My most memorable moment was the killer, but hole, on the porcupine course that made a grown man state that he will never return to this course because he hated it. It has too many trees, the tee pads , two many trees, 6'6"height penalty shouldn't have been in effect, to many trees, two many trees, terrible layout, bad tee signs, too many trees etc. One out of the 4some par-ed, 2 of us played for 4's, and that gentlemen carded a snowman, ow! I havent seen a meltdown like that since Ray DNFed 2 holes shy of a complete tournament 4 yrs ago at the same event.
p.s. Four mound is not for the faint of heart, and everybody plays the same course, so:slapface: p.p.s. Better tee pad would be greatly appreciated. :cop:and would elevate Four mound above other Spokane courses, IMO

Four Mound is awesome, the courses are stellar, and it's always a treat to get to play out there. Everything was good for me (with the exception of a few poorly played holes on my part). I doubt anybody could do any better on those courses than what you, Jaime (sp? sorry), and the SDGA do. I saw a few slips on the carpet tees but getting cement or rubber on all the holes would be a monumental task. I like EVERYTHING about Four Mound and I love hearing people complain about it when they can't handle their game enough to handle the courses. The courses are tough - but they're supposed to be! Gordy, as usual I thought this was a very well run tournament once again, all the hard work you and everyone else does out there is very much appreciated by me and the City Cup is always a tourney that is not to be missed - for me anyway. It was awesome getting to meet and play with all the new west-siders that I hadn't met before.

It has been a remarkable story I've witnessed since Jaymie and Gordy bought their land at FourMound and began setting up the Disc Golf Reserve. It's barely comprehensible the hours this family has contributed to FourMound...especially when you consider the major roles they have played over the past ten years in establishing the SDGA and the implemetation of two public disc golf courses in Spokane: DownRiver and HighBridge. Not to mention they own and run a phenomenal restaraunt (Gordy's) and have raised two teenage boys. All of this while directing tournaments, state series' and helping others with disc golf in general.

The 8th Annual City Cup would have been exceptional in it's own right but when you consider everything else in addition, it's just amazing. What a quality event at an extraordinary setting.

Jaymie and Gordy are the first to credit their family, friends and fellow disc golfers for the help they offer. I'm confident the help will continue because of the people Jaymie and Gordy are.

Some of my favorite memories from this year's tourney...
Watching the line of cars pull in Friday nite and the campfires begin to glow.
Yummy fried chicken and soaking my feet in the tank for lunch Sat.
Listening to Jaymie grill Kirk.
Getting a birdie on one of the holes I sponsored.
Laughing my A$$ off with the gals.
Witnessing some outstanding play and stellar sportsmanship during the Final.
The WICKED rain/wind storm during awards and Gordy just kept talking :-)

Looking forward to next year!!! Also excited about all the help it looks like the Crafts are going to get to smooth out and improve some of the tee pads ;-)
