I want to play Crystal on sunday sometime, I have never played there before and I am wanting to play with someone who has gone before and all of my friends that play don't want to play it because "It's too hot and I don't want to walk up a f***ing mountain!"

Pm me if interested.

Wimps.

The Crystal Mountain summit-to-lodge course is AMAZING! It is superior to anything at Flagstaff, Hoodoo, Skibowl, Milwaukee, Jackson Hole, Bachelor, Shasta or even Willamette Pass! (Opinion collated from personal experience and first-hand reports.)

However, as far as I know, the summit-to-lodge Crystal course has never been set up since the summer I brought the 9 baskets I owned for the Mountain High event that Eddie Luv Wren ran years ago. (What?)

You would ride TWO high-speed detachable chairs to the summit. The holes were so incredible I can't even hope to describe them here and do them justice, so I won't try. They would LITERALLY take your breath away.

I'm a fat old guy (5'9", 210 lbs., born 1967) and I survived it. The rounds only took about 4.5 hours. It was an incredible, unforgettable experience. I have never played a mountain course that fantastic before or since.

That said, I don't know if the summit-to-lodge course will be in place. The permanent summer 18 is also quite excellent. It's not lift-served, but you do get a couple nice top-of-the-world throws along with a nice variety of holes.

Don't let your friends wuss out. Dee and the crew at Crystal are a delightful bunch, and Dee is a really cool, fun, knowledgeable, pleasant host. If you get the chance to play Crystal Mountain, by all means do it now!

I would love to go but I don't want to drive all the way down there and play it alone with no one to help search for discs or be spotters as I heard it can eat discs in a couple of places. I have 10-12 courses left in Washington that I haven't played and I want to get to at least six this year and Crystal is the closest. Also I hate looking for the next teepad so a veteren of Crystal playing with me would be most helpful.

I'm in.

I was literally just thinking, "When will be the next time I'd have a good chance to play Crystal?", and Sunday would actually be great. I have to be back in Seattle to work at 6 PM, but we're better off heading down as early in the day as we can drag ourselves out of bed anyway, to avoid the hottest part of the day.

sending PM to work out details.

Today at Crystal playing with Kyle was so much fun, thank you again Kyle. What a fun and challenging course, oh and an exhausting hike.

Yeah Tom, I had a great time as well. I would say, though, that our conversation was probably more impressive than our golf... haha. Not to say we didn't have our bright moments, but mountain golf is definitely a difficult beast to tame, and I thoroughly enjoyed talking with you.

On a related note, I've had a revelation that I'd like to try starting up a weekly carpool to crystal, on varying days of the week, at least up through the Mountain High tournament which is the 2nd weekend in Sept. More details in a new thread...

I agree whole heartedly with you there I think I shot somewhere in the +18 to +20 range, I forgot every hole but like you said it was alot of fun talking and playing with you, in fact it is the best time I've had playing in a long time, we need to do it again and if it's Crystal you can pretty much count me in.
