Why are there no posts for this event and why are so few players signed up?

Mountain golf is great and a very different experience. The Hyzer Desert Rebels tournaments Rock. If you are not signed up what are you waiting for? Can't be that many people out here getting ready to go to Worlds.

Willamette Pass will have open facilities, so it will be much nicer than Hoodoo which was great fun despite the nasty weather and the lodge being closed.

You don't want to miss this event! Come play King of the Mountain! :trophy::

I'm off to Santa Cruz with my kids this weekend but I will be coming back next Friday and as soon as I can pack my cooler I'll be heading up to the mountain!

See you there. Go Rebels! :cheers:chug::chug::chug:

From the website:

RTS is extremely steep and nearly impossible to walk/climb down. Please navigate the course wisely.:whistler:

The ONLY people that will play down RTS will be the OPEN MEN in a Final 9....and thats a MAYBE.

I have heard from far to many people that they will sign up at the event..

:headbang::headbang::headbang:

Thanks for making the TD's life a bit more difficult....like Ryan Lane doesnt have enough on his plate.

Come on people.....Are there too many events in Oregon now?
Is there an issue because Ryan Lane graciously allowed this event to be a part of the NW Series?
Are YOU afraid of a little Mtn Golf?

:whistler:

Be thankful AND thoughtful of your TD's.....SIGN UP EARLY!

I had almost completely forgotten that it is the weekend after the RCO, until a got an email from the Rebels! Good call on the email. At any rate, I put my check in the mail today. I do like the mountain golf!

I was going to register us online, but didn't want to pay an extra 9 bucks for the convenience, so I was going to put a check in the mail and then realized that Ryan will be at RCO so I can pay him there. Didn't think, though, about the late notice aspect. Sorry for that. We plan to be there.

Brianna and I hope to play, but the flyer doesn't work on our Macs, and we too hope to avoid the online fees. We will go print them out somewhere else or pay someone this weekend though. Can't wait to play Willamette Pass again.

yeah we were going to try to get outta here on Thursday morning to camp at Odell Thurs night at least, but alas, we do have to work for a living...

If there are peeps planning to stay at Odell, though, we may consider doing the same. I bet the party will be at the mountain though

Sarah,

Bring your best selection of Bug Repellent! Waldo should be a testing center for Mosquito repellent. I was nearly eaten alive there once. I would go back anytime though, that place is amazingly beautiful and the hike to the North Fork of the Middle Fork of the Willamette River goes through and eerie burned forest where the quiet is too quiet!!!!!

Come on people.....Lets play some Mtn Golf.

Sign ups are SLOW at best...:(

We need to show Willamette Pass that there is actually are Disc Golfers in Oregon who want to play Mtn Golf. If we do not have a decent showing (100+ players) they will NOT be so willing to allow us to have events in the future.

Entry fees include ALL camping, Saturday night pasta feed & much, much more.
Lifts will be open on Friday from 1pm - 6pm exclusively for Tournament Players.
There will be "deals" for those who wish to show up for 1 day and participate in the activitys....Gondola rides, pasta feed, "beverage" service, etc....

Magilla - so is the mountain closed to non players on Friday? How about the morning?
It's my birthday and took the day off work to head down and play. I've got a bunch of out of towners and non DG players coming to watch some of the action this weekend. I'm draggin them all to the woods from as far away as the San Juan Islands.
Others who can't make it into town until the weekend wanted to take the gondolas up and watch people play. Will that be an option?

There will be a lift "option" for non-tournament players...what that cost is I do not know. That would be purchased thru tournament central.
Normally, Willamette Pass operates on Sat & sun only. Those tickets cost $14 per day. They will be running the lifts for us from 1-6pm on friday for practice rds. which is included in the entry fee for players.

There WILL be a "Spectator Package" offered....which will include lift tickets and pasta feed on Sat Night & more...that can be purchased at Tourney Central as well.

Rebels Mike Urdahl & James Taylor are at Willamette Pass today, putting the finishing touches on the Temp 13 hole course.

NO...We WILL NOT be playing down RTS...:whistler:

I really like the late start for the Masters, it helps when I have time to get my body moving a bit before the round starts. Thanks!

I have 2 questions:

1. Are there showers?

2. If for some reason I don't make it up until Saturday morning can I check in anytime before my tee time (within reason)?

Thanks agian!

Rick,

I've spent my fair share of time at the venue as I had a Skyway pass for two summers. Willamette Pass is one of my favorite places for disc golf. I'll see you on the mountain.

alright people. i'm going to post "a few" pics here from eagle peak. but before i do let me just state a few things.

1. the courses were incredible (especially the alt 13). long, tight, gorgeous.... hard. i took an 8 on a par 5 without a penalty, and lost over 9 discs throughout the course of the weekend (one disc twice). i kind of felt like the ongoing joke this weekend was, "who's going to find Will's discs and where". thanks to everyone that found all but two. :biggrin2:

2. lane and nate played solid golf all weekend, and congrats to lane for taking it in a 4 hole playoff (much like the british open...) i saw A TON of spit outs (nate :biggrin2:) that made the 18 play quite a bit more difficult.

3. i hurt.

please don't steal these images! i'm going to send a few into dg mag.

before our warm up round on friday sam larsen and i decided to donate a few discs to rts and the Willamette national forest. this drive below was THE BIGGEST hyzer flip i have ever, and probably, will ever see. it landed IN THE FAIRWAY at the very end of the run on the right side of the last row of trees (below). F****** incredible. i have no idea how far that was, but a gentlemen in the lodge said from top to bottom including elevation it's nearing 3000 ft. http://www.ezupa.com/misc/banana-still.gif

Thanks for sharing the sweet pics Will.

Willamette Pass is such an epic venue for disc golf, oh I may have mentioned that before. The ski area workers that run the facilities and fed the golfers were simply fantastic working long hours all weekend. I mean breakfast, lunch & dinner were available at the lodge.
I tried hard to lose plastic on the alt 13 but actually found them all with some extra hiking... A fir tree on the summer 18 held onto one of my drivers for a few hours Saturday but I got that disc back. I know my playing partners Greg and Rick, each lost a couple discs over the weekend.
I'm only a little worse for wear with one blister a few mosquito bites and several sore muscles. I wouldn't have it any other way! Thanks Ryan, Gretchen and all the Hyzer Desert Rebels for another fantastic mountain event.

Lava Launch at Mt Bachelor is next!

I did not lose ANY discs, Dave. I did however leave a couple lying in the woods as an offering to the Willamette Pass golf gods. This was by design as it helped pull away from the field (which I nicknamed "Greg" :whistler:) and finish with a win!

Thanks to everyone that put in the hard work for another great mountain golf tourny!
