Last Saturday at Horing's Hideout during 6th ODDGA, I shot personal best on Hillside course of 52, my previous best was even as 54.

Not to be "outdone" by Nichola.. She was with me when I shot my first personal best - a score under 70!!! Whoo! Also on the Hillside course, I had scored a 65. I know it's a bit high, but think about it.. it was my first time playing at Horning's Hideout and I had a good time! So, I am looking forward to bring down my scores.

I know this doesn't compare to other people's milestones, but you've got to start somewhere. After two months of playing almost every day, I got my first par on a hole on Friday! I'm also doing (mostly) under double par at Orchard, Lunchtime, Leverich, and now Greenway! I think it'll be awhile before I get to double par at Pier (especially at the long tee positions). It's progress though.

I snuck in a round at Pier this Saturday while my niece was napping (babysitting for my sis' anniversary, left grammy in charge)...I jogged almost the whole way (a rarity for my chubby booty) and tied my P.B. of 64...maybe "running a round" isn't such a bad idea after all. ;)

Overall I am a bit disappointed with my last round at the Clash this weekend, but in Saturday's 2nd round I had my highest rated round to date at 862. This was my first big tournament playing in advanced, but it will not be my last.:yay:

I was pleased on hitting new longest shots into the basket. I got a 45' on Friday, and a 55' on Saturday, both with moderate wind, and with my Chick Flick driver. Both were nice clean shots too.

Thought I'd add to thread just for the fun of it...personal best at horning's 60 (only time i've played there actually), Orchard park 57 (I like to think of things in 18's, first nine 31, second nine 26), Grand Lodge 53 (first nine 24, second nine 29). None of these are very recent.

I finally met a huge goal and shot in single digits over par at Pier Park today...shot a 62...and as a bonus, I got my first 2 ever (on number 7 which is sitting in a really lovely, fairly short and to the left positioning, but a 2 none the less).

Like I said, I've been out there just about every weekend at least once and sometimes twice for the last month and a half...and Thursday was my start of a little mini vacay before the new school year starts at work, so I was feeling pretty relaxed.

I've come pretty close to tears of frustration because of those f*ing trees...especially those precious drives where your disc actually lands behind the teepad after bouncing off a majestic fir trunk...but I do try to follow my self imposed rule of "There's No Crying in Disc Golf."

Shot a pb at Pier today of 62, and got my first ever bird there.

Thank goodness that happened today because the rest of the day SUCKED!!:pullhair: Computer monitor went out. :smash:My husband rode his motorcycle to work today, and got stuck at work because of the snow. I had to go get him, but waited for the crazy traffic to be done with. As I am driving there to get him I discover my drivers side windshield wiper is not working, and I could hardly see all the way there.

Anyway thank goodness for that good round at Pier because that is all I am thinking about tonight. :yay:

Moderation in all things, except moderation.

I can't seem to make any correlation between having a little or not. Sometimes the imbibery seems to send the score through the stratosphere and sometimes it seems to cure what was ailing my round. Usually I can't putt at all after two espressos, but sometimes I can. I tossed an even par the other day when I'd had the two morning uppers and then drank ale instead of water after the front nine. I did miss some way easy putts and really gave up what would been close to a career round. I wind up not knowing anything from the experience.

Now I learn that some women drink. I'm shocked, shocked I tell you!

I know, right?! That's what scares me...

However, Masters and Fourth of July are, like, nonstop all day long four or five days in a row of constant drunken debauchery... I feel like they're entirely different beasts than a "regular" round of golf where I get a little buzz on... I guess maybe it's like all or nothing for me... hehe...

What an epic day of disc golf today at Horning's Hideout today. It was just me and my dog Reagan. Thanks Em it was a very satisfying day of golf for me :) I agree Reagan is one of the best dogs ever, but unfortunately she will not be able to be my caddy on Sunday. I would never take my dogs on tournament rounds. I just think dogs and little kids are not a good mix in a tournament setting.

I had a good golf day on Saturday, and got personal bests at both Leverich and Pier. I'm a real beginner, and I'm excited that I'm seeing some improvement! I got a 58 at Leverich (first time under 5/hole), and beat my husband on two holes. I don't remember my previous best there, but I know I've never even gotten close to 5/hole. I got a 118 at Pier, which is significantly better than my previous best -- 124. That's significant progress towards one of my 2010 goals of getting down to 108 at Pier by the end of the year.

I'm planning to get a lesson within the next month, if we can find a date that works, and so I'm expecting to make more progress this year!

I'm excited -- I got my first birdie ever yesterday! I've been fairly consistently getting a par on hole 2 at Leverich, and I'd expected the same yesterday afternoon. But I made about a 30' putt (that I didn't think I had a chance at) for my first birdie. I'd been at Dallas park all day on Saturday watching my husband play in his second tournament, and so maybe some of the skill I saw rubbed off.

Congrats! You girls should be bringing that stuff to AZ!! And AM Worlds! Just gently planting the seeds...

thank you for the nice words... AZ sure sounds lovely right about now as i sit and watch various type of frozen precipitation pile up in the front yard... but, alas, not to happen this time around... but don't you worry, this girl got some big plans anyway...

Got out yesterday for about the first time over the last six weeks. I wanted to see if all my indoor practice is helping my drive. Turns out it did! On the average, I think I added almost 25% to my drives! Whereas I seldom threw anything over 100' before, and most of those downhill, almost half went 100' or more yesterday, and I had several that were slightly downhill that went around 125'. I've been working on getting to 100' for over a year and a half, so maybe this will be the year of improvement. Now, I just need for it to dry up for some outdoor practice to get consistency back.

BTW, I'm not even carrying any 150s around any more, so I couldn't try to see if I can throw them as far, or if it's the extra weight that's getting me the extra distance. I'm extremely curious, although I'm still skeptical. In any case, I don't think the heavier discs are hurting.

Awesome Karen. :yay: I would be curious though to hear how the one fiddy's are now working for you. Take that lightweight plastic out with you next time, and give them a whirl. I know I can throw the lighter stuff much farther than the heavier stuff. :yay:

Heck yay shot a PB on the Canyon course today at Horning's Hideout 52 that's -4  They were in the shorts, and my previous PB on the shorts was 55, -1. I also hit metal twice in that that round i skipped it off the tire rim on 8 Gong, and then also hit the rim on 12. :yay: Great day three rounds with my awesome husband, and the weather was very spring like without the rain. :yay:

Pretty sure my 74 on the east Saturday & my 73 on the west Sunday at the 3PO are both personal best scores for tournament rounds at Milo on the BSF layout. :yay:

I scored personal best 82 (old one was 88) for BSF West last Sunday to win BSF Women ADV Master. Would be 80 if it wasn't for OB on West 7, and my putter kissed top of basket tray and bounced off at West 9. Best disc golf round ever for me because it was smooth sailing whole time.

First time that I got -1 at Leverich in any tournament or causal rounds. :yay:

There was 2 temporary holes added to 12 holes layout to make 14 holes for 1st Vancouver Deaf Association fund raising event. First round, I got 1 up and second round, I got 1 down to make total score even which was sweet that I got E. By the way, I beat my man by 10 strokes...

Sorry, my man, I had to announce it on this forum :kissflowers:
