I'll post a new complete list when I find the time. I'm late on firewood with many cords to split. Bear with me.
Sam

Bearing.
Funny... the only disc I have ever lost and left up there has not been returned. I had just started playing (pretty much) and lost a glow Eagle in the elephant grass on 6 - in the dark. You'd think the glow would have helped but my internal glow might have been too bright for me to have seen it, anyway...
Ol' Bob
August 28th, 2008, 10:13 AM
I lost a glow that night too. That grass on six is called canary grass, a.k.a., "disc-be-gone." That extra thick and tall grass lodges over in the winter and new grass grows right out of the top of your disc next year, only to fall over on it again the next winter.

What's you high score on Tetris?
Sam

I don't know... I just goofed around with it to make sure it worked and would save the score.
Please somebody beat it...

Oh, I thought it was the Tetris on your computer. I lost mine in the killer crash a few years ago. I'll have to check out the in-house version when I have time. Now it's off to spit wood.
BTW, are you sure you should be posting this crap in Ol' Bob's Lost and Found thread? I may report your ass.

I spent at least an hour up the hill Tuesday looking specifically for four discs: the Bishop's Johnny Cash dye, Jasonrocksout's red Wuchamucallit, Zippyboy's Force, and Dylan's Monarch. Nothing found looking for the first one. Came up with a Club Mud Whamo Putter while looking for J's. Found zippo while looking for Zippy's. Got Dan N's Whamo Mid Range while looking for the Monarch.
Those are four thoroughly lost discs. I was on the tees when three of those were lost and down-range spotting when J lost his. I can't believe I didn't find at least one of them. Real Bermuda Triangle shit.

Sad story: that disc was working its way up to the cabin in tosses and my last throw went stable and landed in the tenth fairway, straight in front of the cabin. There were three guys on the course who come here from Ilwaco. They are guys who've been here several times and have each time made me nervous (like I was being cased). They'd never played a complete round until Saturday. They were the only ones in a position to pick up that disc and when we got to ten, it was gone. I'm pretty sure they took at least one disc from the Club Mud loaners last time they were here. We'll probably never see it again, but at least I've got the grounds to send the thieves packing next time they come here. Your disc will die a hero!
Bruce

Haha, Bob you found my glow t-bird I sacrificed that night around the campfire at the 'Burner?! That's awesome man, but keep it yourself or put it in the loaner bin!
Ol' Bob

Where did you throw it from, Bruce? The campfire by the pond? I found it just short of the driveway, almost all the way to the neighbor from Hell's. That would be a major huck!

Today I got around to making a tool for winter hunting of discs in the swamps and marshes (at least where I can walk). It's a probe with four six inch spikes, 7.5 inches apart. The first disc I found was the TrojaNation Dan's blue Xpress. Two more belonged to locals, one was a Club Mud loaner, and one was a no-name Tsunami with A Morely Field DG Course custom stamp.

Discdogies, your Star Wraith has been curiously found and returned by the guys who said they hadn't seen it and knew nothing of it. They came preciously close to being 86ed. The lost and found has returned at least three of their discs, and they've gotten the idea to at least not pick up discs from my front yard. They may be seeing that that's not the way it's done here. http://www.publicadvocate.com/phpBB3/images/smilies/riot.gifhttp://www.publicadvocate.com/phpBB3/images/smilies/riot.gif

The course is finally starting to get that 'pimped' look. I busted a mower belt yesterday and had to drive into Kelso to get another one. I mowed until 8:00pm and was mowing again today before 8:00am. I was loading up some of the last of the broken apple tree brush from one and two today and found Chris Graham's RCO stamped white Roc. Thursday evening I was working on getting some of that apple brush picked up near the tenth tee when, under the pile, I found a big beautiful morel mushroom which I photoed and fried (in that order).

Hole 2 - Greenish yellow T-Rex...there are a few aces on that one. I shanked it pretty good towards the buried car and washing machine.
Hole 15 - used to be Hole A, I think. It's the hole where we ran into Ol' Bob and the Westsiders playing doubles on Sunday. We were as well. Anyway, I lost a Glow T-Bird on that hole. Smacked the huge cedar - the one with a couple of little trees wrapped spindling swirling up it - 20 ft. high and kicked left. I just put my name on that one.
Thanks for the good times!

How about a white Tulsa 2006 AM/JR Worlds that looks like it once said, on the top, "Bro Berg -- This is my Orc -- There are many like it -- but this one is Mine -- Without me, my Orc is nothing -- Without my Orc, I am -- NOTHING?"
On edit: there is another, newer, name on this disc. I just posted it because the message on top seemed so emphatic. It looks like the original message was wiped, as the stamp is gone and, like the message, hard to make out. I want to hear from Bro Berg or someone who knows him before I call the new number. Berg's (206) number is marked over and unreadable. The newer one is a (503).

Well, ChUcK put me onto Bro Berg's phone number. As I had wondered here, Bro never transferred ownership of his Orc to anyone named Ben Roberts. I wonder why someone would cross off someone else's number and have the belief that it's okay to put theirs on in its place. I'm glad I played it this way, and Bro will be getting his Orc back, without which, he was NOTHING. He will be something again. Ben will have to wait until it's lost again and be in a position to get a hold of it before Bro does.

I was just outside between showers and walking in the woods, deep cover well off the course. I saw something cobalt blue and thought, "hmmmm, an old china plate." When I got close I could see it was a disc. The closest hole was #one, but there was absolutely no chance it was thrown from there. Too far and way too many trees in any possible path. It was Pro-D and had no name on it. What it had was little needly teeth marks in it. I've seen a raccoon grab an 8 inch kid's ball and run off with it, so I'm thinking it was something like that.
Also, the week after Skyline's Ace Race, a guy was here who had also been at the Ace Race while I was on the course with someone else. He drove a small sports car. Anyway, when I got to the seventh fairway the next day, there was a nearly new Lightning D-1 Prostyle with no name. It had to have been left there by that guy or his friend.

One was Terry Surratt's and he knows the drill. It was new to me and I never got my name on it. I know, my bad. If someone else found it and kept it, I can't fault them since I didn't mark it. Oh well. Looks like I'll have to get back up there to lose another one!

Hmmm, that could have been a different Shannon. I see that yellow Valk was on the lost disc sign up sheet from last year's Burner. Different last name and different number.
On edit: Different Shannon -- called and happy.
Also, I just found a fly-dye Beast of Shawn Mahugh's. Not going to call on that one, as I already did on his CE Eagle.
And, I found an old 150 DX Valk of mine that I'd donated to the loaner bin. Glad to find that flippy thing, as it's perfect for newbies. It's been in the grass for about five years.

I believe that jacket belongs to Mikey Wilton who played in WDDGA's Opening Day last Saturday along with Lionel. I will check with Mikey to see if he wants his jacket back. I am sure that Mikey, my man and I would love to come back to play there again. I will keep you posted if Mikey does want it back.

It must have caught an edge and rolled between the ferns or a really low and lucky skip because it was under 6" off the ground when it left the fairway.

Durn, I lost the white R-Pro Boss that erp gave me, testing out the new hole 15 yesterday. Looks like that 200 foot hole is going to need spotters until it gets a few months of traffic to walk down the fairway. New holes are tough for hiding discs.

I think that disc might just enjoy some alone time every now and again.
I have a 156 that I made a battlefield trade at trojan for - I have yet another friend carrying it with the instruction to return it once it's broken in so I can get it to you.
If he doesn't...oh I'm not going to say anything to jinx it -

It was the one I was using for my "stable" one. I'm really missing the R-Pro Katana that went beneath the waves on #12 at Trojan. I've been looking online to find "out of stock" notices just about everywhere. I do wish they'd make Bosses and Katanas in light DX.

Do you have a map of the latest and greatest layout or is it still behind the cloak of the course design gnomes?

Funny thing is, two discs were found on that round. I wasn't playing, as my back was/is out and I'm hobbling on a cane at present, while the mowing isn't getting done. But anyway, leaning on my cane, I looked down and found a Cheetah, curiously also an 11X KC Pro. The name was all faded away and only the 360 area code could be read. So, one 11X had a number with no area code and the other had an area code and no number.

Further study of the Cheetah, with the sunlight on it just right, revealed enough of the name, as well as the third and second to last numerals in the whole phone number, to reveal it as belonging to my good neighbor, Treasure Colupy. As his dog has destroyed nearly all of his discs, he'll be glad to hear I found it. As he has let his dog destroy nearly all of his discs, I'm wondering whether to tell him.
snap7times
April 21st, 2010, 02:23 PM
my first response would be "why anger the disc gods, give the disc a better home"... but karma be bad for you if you don't do the right thing... maybe tell the neighbor, but since the disc has value, he needs to promise the dog will not have access to it, or give it a better home? All2common's home isn't an option cuz we see he resorts to violence... no need to put the disc in an abusive environment...

====================
I found that while searching for a white Pro Katana that I saw go into the small spruce tree. It was thrown there by a guy I hope never comes here again. He was a middle aged rent-a-cop ("armed security guard") from Vallejo who continuously talked down to and yelled at his little boy and girl. No damned respect. He made me completely sick, and I hated myself for not jumping into his shit, but I was the good host in spite of him. Anyway, we soon gave up looking for the disc and he said, "it's okay, I found it anyway." Well, sadly, when I found it today, it was evident that I had hit it with the mower and destroyed it.
So, Disk Doug in the 707 area code, your white Pro Katana is dead. At least the prick that stole it from you hasn't got anymore.

Thanks, Bob. That's my disc, one of my oldest orcs. My correct number is 206-719-6427. I can mail you an envelope with return address and postage, if you believe that it won't get stolen by evil neighbor.
