What about the 31st of July? Is it humanly possible to play all three courses in a day? Also, is there camping nearbye?

I know that I have gotten Porcupine, Cape Fear and the final ten layout done in one day. I couldn't imagine trying to play that with Hawk and Jumanji as well. That would be marathon golf.

Start early, bring your Gators, bring lunch and beverages, three pairs of socks, and your determination.
Almost a guarantee of a good nights sleep.
Riverside State Park (http://www.riversidestatepark.org/) is the closest camping.

I plan to be open by 10:00. I pretty much have to mow the whole darn thing AGAIN. Jumanji is still in the best shape along with the Final 10. There's some new mowing on the early Hawk holes but the lower holes on Hawk and on Porcupine need work. It'll be hot this weekend so I'll get the coolers out onto the course. As you go around there is a lot of cool green grass to help break up the heat. Many of the trees along the fairways have had their lower branches trimmed so there is actually more shade than before and less eye poking getting discs out from under low branches. :chug:

Ended up getting sidetracked and couldn't make it out that far on Sunday anyways. Thanks for all the status updates, though, Gordy.
By the way, how does your cooler system work? Keep them filled with water or something? I always try to have ample bee...errrr water available. ;) But having an on-course hydration supply would sure be excellent to fill up my bottle if that is the case!!

I started by putting Sierra Nevada Torpedo on tap in the coolers but it went flat too fast. So now I just put in fresh water.
On the Hawk you'll see a cooler at #4 and #13. On Fear at #14 and a faucet @ #18. On Porcupine there's a faucet at #7, a cooler at #10, Faucet at #15.
Jumanji has a cooler at #6, one toward the green on #9, one right after #13, one at #19, one in the fairway of #23 and running water at the end. On a hot day you have to let the faucets run for a while for the water to cool down....... or just take a hot shower. There is now a cold 300 gal. body chiller at tourny central on a little deck. Turn on the cold water and give it a try.

I'm pretty sure he's asking if Jumaji has any holes that are "Jumanji only" holes. It does but I'm pretty sure there's only 1 Jumanji only hole and I think it's hole 21 perhaps. Gordy calls it Peckerwood and everyone has an opinion on it. For the most part though it's a mix of Cape Fear and Hawk mostly with 5 or so Porky holes. Hope that's along the lines of what you were looking for.

This course has been played in PDGA B-tiers and A-tiers a whole bunch of times. The best players in the world have been through here as well as those who are just at the cut-off line of the rating-propagating field. This course and the others all have a solid data base of PDGA play. I don't see any reason why you shouldn't be able to have Jumanji listed as a distinct course where you can input your scores and get a corresponding rating response. There is only one hole strictly on Jumanji only and that is, you guessed it, Peckerwood. You have my permission to pursue having Jumanji PDGA listed. Thanks for the inquiry, Gordy:chug:

I recommend playing the Super Porcupine; First three holes of the Final '10', the middle 12 holes of the original Porcupine, and the last 3 holes of the 'Final 10'. The gates will be open by 10:00 and there'll be a fire going. We're still donating all the car fees to the Sekani Benefit. More is better. Hope the sun shines. Gordy:chug:

The snow is not too deep(5-6") and plowing the road in from Burnett was fairly routine. Burnett itself is clear as is Four Mound Rd. (and well sanded on the hill). The road out to the Hawk lot is clear and some parking is cleared out there and around Tourny Central. My target time to open tomorrow is 10:00 and there will be a fire somewhere.
The football game is at 3:30 and we will have an open house in town @ 422 W. 33rd. Giants fans welcome too. 363-1056. Go 9rs. Gordy:trophy:

Four Mound will be open tomorrow and the welcome mat will be out for visitors on the usual basis. I have some extra beer left from Super Bowl and will bring it on out to enjoy by the fire. I urge caution before driving out to the remote lots(soft ground) but the road in is solid and the parking lot at Tourney Central is a little sloppy but you won't have trouble.-------On the courses the snow is very much crusted over and there has been no trampling and compacting so all the tees, fairways and greens are very playable. Be careful if you get up into the rocks, please. It'd be good to see some faces after about 6 weeks of not much happinin. Gordy:chug:

The clinic was fantastic, more information than my brain could handle. Best fathers day present I could ask for next to a practice basket. The champ was awesome to watch, and Dave spent most of the evening standing in front of drives with total disregard for his life (in some cases) the Kid couldn't make it but the Texan spent personal one-on-one tome with many who were in need. Awesome time and great hosts. Too bad the weather couldn't be as accommodating for rounds prior to the lesson.
Tony thanks for setting it up, Thanks Gordy and Four Mounds for hosting, and thanks pros for staying late and signing everything put in front of them.
Next question: when is the next clinic? Anyone have a connection to Nate Doss and team Discraft that can get him up any time soon?:whistler: just wondering :biggrin2:

First things first. Open tomorrow, Sunday 24th @ 10:00. Throw to the mowed part or roll neked in the flowers. The Driving Clinic sign is still out front at the gate and the driving range is still all set up, but Messier Doss has not returned my call........There's a lot of new mowing and it sure needs it. I'm thinking of having an event on all three courses and calling it something like the Four Mound Rebound, ie. first round in the evening on Cape Fear, two rounds the next day on Porcupine and the Hawk; camping, music, food. You get the idea. I'll only need all new signs, more benches, a crap load of NO SMOKING signs, a band and a caterer. No biggee. I'll just snap my fingers.....See you tomorrow. It's beautiful out there. Gordy.

Thank you Gordy. Always awesome out there. Hope to see that Force I lost. There were two others lost out there today. A Yellow Star Whippet on Jumanji hole 7. It was on the big hyzer out around all the tree's and disapeared. A Yellow Blizzard Boss on Jumanji 4. It was a good drive about 80% to the tee and then hid somewhere in those bushes that littered the fairway. And then my Force on Jumanji 25 that traveled all the way down the fairway and starting hyzering hard into that tall grass. Never throwing a green disc again on a hole that is littered with tall green grass. Lesson learned.

Four Mound will be open July 1st, Sunday. I'll confirm the time in the morning. It'll be interesting to see what the weather does tomorrow as sprinkles and thunderstorms are in the forecast. Generally the cool and moist conditions have kept the fairways and greens cushy . Get outa town!

It will be hotter than Dogbreath but Four Mound will be open this Sunday. Due to the weather ALL SMOKING is prohibited out on any of the courses. You can smoke in the parking and Tourney Central areas only. There is plenty of fresh cold water at Tourney Central and the coolers will be out on the course. If you play Porcupine there are water lines to it that we can pressure up and you will have running water at tee #7 and # 14 as well as Final 10 # 8( the one with all the ropes).......Tomorrow (Sat.) we will be open at 5:00 pm to accommodate a group from Calgary. I will give you a deal on your car fee considering the late hour but i can assure you the early evening hours at the Mound in the summertime is about as good as it gets. :chug:

Coolers are out. Water can be turned on for Porcupine. Saw a rattler yesterday. Be careful. I've gotten a little behind on mowing but with cooler temperatures I'll get back on it.

There's just too much dry tinder.....I'll get the redneck hot tub chilled out for after your round. 49rs and Packers @ 5:00. I might want to catch some of that.

Getting up in the rocks on some of the holes can be risky in freezing conditions. Hawk is the least treacherous; gentler hills, no cliffs. On Porcupine you can skip 9 thru 12 and head straight to the truck hole after 8 but that will only be 14 holes. Another alternative is to play Porky 1-9, Fear 7, and then finish on Hawk 11- 18. That would be 18 holes. There are shorter versions of all of them; you need to simply cut across and continue at select points. I'm on my way to see if I can get a fire started.:chug:

We'll be out tomorrow by 11:00 for playing and relaxing. The snow makes getting around difficult because you don't know if you'll break through or not. Free golf this Sunday if you want to give it a try.:chug:

I'm on my way out now to work on the course and watch the Zag game and will be on-site overnite. The gate will be open from as early in the morning as you can make it.
Bob and I will be hosting a St. Pats Day event on Sunday 3/17 and there's plenty to get ready so I'm on my way.:chug:

Sounds good to me. The courses are clearing up rapidly and I've cleared off some tees where the snow was deep ie. Hawk #17. The big pond is about half full and there are some small rivulets trickling down from the Hawk #4 area and alongside the access road and pooling up in the rocky area short and to the left of Hawk #18. Haven't seen much water elsewhere to report because the ground is thawed and it mostly soaks in. Wait till it rains.
I'm planning to be out there both Sat. and Sunday. I'll update the times later.:chug:

Four Mound will be open Sat. before the St. Pats Day event on Sunday for carloads of golfers @ 5/car. On the day of the event there will be plenty of room for casual golfers @5/car on the courses not in use for the event. Parking for participants is free on Sunday but if you're bringing casual golfers with you please have them pay for the car. Thank You:puke::puke::puke::puke::cheers:
The following weekend the Mound will be open both days if you haven't had a chance to get out or are looking for a new place to develop your game.
The ground is still wet but firm . Last year's grass is drying out rapidly in the wind and sun so I will be asking everyone to confine their smoking to the benches only and bring their own containment (ashtray) Thank You:puke::puke::puke::puke::cheers:

Forecast for today is 46F with winds light and variable. I'll be varying my time between cleaning up on the Porcupine and catching some NC2a in the club house. The tee signs are still out from last week's event so you can update your data for Hawk. Some signs on Fear are still out of date but those will be amended in due time. The Mound will be open in 35 minutes so bust out your spring game!

A reminder: The second and last Lco Fundraiser @ Fourmound will be this weekend. See the above thread for details. We will play Fear in the morning and Porcupine in the afternoon. There may be some cool and damp weather so we will make sure there is some extra chow and a warm dry place to take off the chill (you'll need to take off your shoes so bring some slippers and /or dry socks) For SDGA members there will be three random drawings for paid entries to the LCO so bring an extra $20 if you want to sign up or renew. ( Courtesy of Four Mound and the SDGA).:jumpspin::jumpspin::jumpspin:
Sat. morning (tomorrow) I will be open by 10:00 am for casual play on any course @5$/car. Will the smokers please bring their own containment (ashtray) and please smoke on the benches only. Pack it in_pack it out.
When the rain comes they run and hide their heads; they might as well be fed, when the sun shines they slip into the shade and sip their lemonade. Now they know how many holes it takes to play the LCO.

I'll get it open by the usual time, tomorrow, 4/14 10:00 The tee at Porcupine #1 is under renovation. Please excuse the mess. Me and my boys did some clearing out of the N.E. side of the House Mound so that when you play Porky # 4 you can see a lot more detail of the upper slope and the cliff face. It's always somthun.

It's 50' further and is guarded by some tall Syringia shrubs.:chug:
Come up early Sat. morning and catch some cool. Open by 8:00.:chug:

I'll be onsite by 10:00. If you've got the candles I've got the cake.......Saw a rattler on the path to Fear #2 yesterday afternoon and another one in the shade down in the last trees on the left on Fear #8. They both gave fair warning but still please be careful.......All the tees and pins are in their Tournament positions. If anyone wants to put some time into wacking some tees and greens I'll gladly waive their car fee.........The tee signs on Hawk and Porcupine have all been brought in to get their LCO Sponsors installed so their is no signage on those two courses right now. They'll probable be back out there in about a week. If anyone has a last minute sponsorship please contact Bob to get on a sign. It's too late to get on the shirt.
