Thanks!

Magilla has the answers you seek. It is my understanding though that Hyzer Pines is not happening. There is another event to replace it.

I wonder if the snow will be gone by then?
That is a good question considering the reports I saw today for late spring snow fall accumulations possible down to 3000 feet!

Awesome! We can ski to our disc. It will make for really short rounds.
Keep the snow coming

You've never thrown a spike-hyzer in the snow, have you Celeste? :)

No I never have thrown a spike hyzer in snow, doesn't seem prudent.
My ski and golf addictions tend to battle each other this time of year, so I’m willing to try it.

Seeing how we have LOTS of snow at My Bachelor when it opens in early July.......Id say that we WILL still have some snow in areas at HooDoo.
The base elevation is a heck of alot lower at HooDoo.
Its gonna be AWESOME.

Flyers will be avail at GNW..:whistler:
Online signups will open Monday April 27th.....either PDGA or TitleDisc TBA

I am curious to see the map of this course. Hoodoo has always been my home ski resort as my cabin is in Detroit Lake...

The "Course(s)" are still in the "design" phase......
Typically...a "Ryan Lane Mtn Layout" will have 45 holes total.
Im "guessing" that there will be 3 - 9 hole courses with Lift access AND an 18 Hole course accessible from the base.

That sounds about right... Hoodoo has plenty of space for that and it's not too steep either... Look forward to seeing this course in the "ground"

Awesome! Love mountain golf and snow makes it better.
I have thrown a spike hyzer in the snow around a blind corner. Many years ago when Pat Farrell through the first tournament up at Willamette Pass. It was blizzard conditions in May. I got that Proline/Champion Beast back about 4 years later. Someone from Bend found it.

I am just going to go ahead and say it. I have talked to alot of different players about this event and I am simply sharing the thoughts I have heard:
1) Many players do not play mountain courses enough to put their PDGA ratings on the line for this event.
2) Very few players will get a chance to play the tournament layout in advance.
3) Many of us are confused as to why the Sisters course is not being used in this event. It was a blast to play last year and clearly a huge amount of effort was expended to get the back portion ready for play. I,personally, was really looking forward to playing that couse in tournament play again this year.
Magilla, I know you are going to feel slighted by this, and I know you probably think I am Jubbing, but I am not. Again, I appreciate all you do for the game and how terrific your events are. I am not at all taking potshots a your work. I just wanted you to hear what many players are thinking and hopefully you take it as feedback and not criticism.
Peace out,

WHAT???? Are you serious? I would pick Hoodoo in a heartbeat... Sisters is a nice course yes, but not something I want to go back to more than once a year or every other year, it's just flat desert with a lack of terrian variety.. Same goes for WEED, CA, at University of OB, flat... Hoodoo is not a steep resort and can have a great mix of elevation and terrain... And it's part of a mountain series which I think is awesome... And if you realllllly love your PDGA ratings so much, don't play any course that you haven't played at least 100 times already then.... PDGA ratings represents over all skills, or at least supposed to, so if you wanna improve, play the variety of courses.

How long will the HooDoo course be in the ground? I know a couple of years ago there was a course there for a few weeks, before the baskets were brought over to Bachelor.

With the huge demand for golf tourneys in Oregon I do wonder why both courses wouldn't be used that weekend. The GNO and the Fling registrations would indicate that a tourney could definitely use two courses. Oh cra* speaking of the GNO, I gotta go. Only 193 miles separates me from my next round of golf. :whistler: Bend here I come.

:chinscratch: THAT is a good question.....
Ryan had said that he was going to use TitleDisc for ALL the KOM (King of the Mountain) events, BUT I am not sure WHAT he decided to do.
I'll check and post....

Ok so is this event going to be a part of the Oregon series or not. I don't see any mention of it on the Rebel's web page. Sounds like too that the whole Oregon series points for this year is in doupt. I was planning on playing the series based on the fact that it was going to be a series. If not I most likely will not play this event for sure.

Well I guess I am going to have to take a pass on this one. It appears that it will cost us $30 a night for our little trailer. Add that with the $60 for FW2, and it just makes it too expensive.

The $30 is ONLY if you want an RV Site with Hookups, etc.
Other camping will be considerably cheaper......I'll gather more info.

Well we don't need hook-ups we can dry camp. It's just the way the flyer reads it says tent camping included, and RV sites $30. If we can park our trailer where the tent camping is that would be fine with us.

So the camping included in the registration is for styaing in the parking lot?
Also, if we show up in the afternoon on that Friday we can pick up our players pack and "test" out some of the holes via the chairlift?
Crossing my fingers that the snow melts faster!
Looking forward to the event!
