...what is your longest driver? I do wonders with an Innova SL 173 (LHBH).

All the high speed drivers are quite long. Determining which one I can throw marginally further than the rest is useless to me compared to knowing which ones I can throw with the most consistency. I throw Orcs for distance, but the specific mold I use for a max D driver is probably the least important element of putting together a bag for me.

Officially my longest throw is with a 12X Wraith, very nearly matched by a Star Destroyer. These days the Z Surge booms and the ESP Force is right behind that. I haven't measured any throws in a while, time to break out the RF.

171 CFR Destroyer, although I threw a buddy's first run Boss and absolutely crushed it on hole 16 @ Whistlers bend. (inside the treeline). My longest official throw was with a 169 Z Predator(572') in a park in san diego during the disc olympics, can't quite match that feat as of late.

For my longest D, I go with either of my 175 Star T Rex's. For D with more control I go with my new 168 Groove. My longest throw was with one of my star T Rex's. It went around 600 something, with a slight downhill help. Tee 5 at Hagg to close to Tee 6 at Hagg. Long throw, but left me with about a 300 ft upshot at least.

Currently, my 172 old-mold Pro Line Beast is flying the farthest, hands down.

I just recently put a 169 champ Destroyer back in my bag (High Speed Driver Boycott) and haven't been able to beat the Beast with it yet.

Just a small fyi, star and proline destroyers will fly better and farther than champion destroyers, just a mere observation and feedback from 20+ destroyer throwers. Star and pro wraiths are good for those who dont have the power to turn the destroyers. But for sure would crush a beast if the right disc is thrown from the wraith/destroyer family.

For me:
167g champ groove (mainstream run--not 1st run :nono:) in the air.
And yes it's blue--especially beautiful, sparkly blue when outfitted with my blue LED. :biggrin2:

On the ground, my dark blue 167 star sidewinder goes further most of the time...:rolleyes2:

169g Star Destroyer just added to the bag feels like it glides forever and ever...

I can see the Bosses I have getting up there but they are so damned overstable that it is hard to get them to go as far as other drivers. I think I need a lighter one.

12x star wraith is my longest driver. The beater the better haha. I throw it on a hyzer line and it just flips straight for ever. They go just as far as my star destroyers with the same snap but fly straighter and fade a bit less at the end. Think Hole 14 at pier straight through the middle gap. MmM I love me the wraith.

Ya, I was shocked too. It was probably a 550ft drive. I have witnesses. I'll admit that I had a tailwind and it was my 4th or 5th drive.

I believe my longest measured drive is with a 168 champion wraith. The driver that consistently gets me the most distance is a 163 Champion Wraith.

I have not had too much luck with the Boss and Groove. I think I can throw my teebirds farther than those discs.

Isn't that hole measured to be 550-580 feet? So the drive was in the 450 range?

Nope, the tee sign says 689ft in the long placement. Which is where the basket was.

Bruce Murphy put a second drive about 25 feet short of the first trees. Had to have been 530-540 feet. Brian Breece followed a group or two back putting one to the evergreen at the side of the parking lot - maybe 490 or so. Discs were flying super sweet on Sunday.

I don't want to be a downer, but I question the validity of the tee sign on that one. I really don't think it's 689'. I would put it more at an even 600', maybe a few feet more.

I could totally be wrong, but it just seems a little too easy to get there no matter where your first throw lands.

That's still a big pump regardless, did you make it past the tree line? Pro Valks will go forever with the right angle, height, and tailwind!

I'll take my metering wheel out there when I play next. I really think it's only about 485-500 to the tree line.

Heck, hopefully I'm wrong and we can all throw further than I think, but I'm not convinced yet. :wink2:

Truthfully, I was going by the 689 number and it doesn't seem right to me, either. Fortunately, I don't have to worry about throwing it to the tree line. :whistler:

Wow, I stand corrected. I just "google earthed" it and it's reporting to be right at 689 from teepad to long placement. I know google earth isn't perfect, but it's not often off by too much.

Sorry for not having the faith guys. Here are the measurements on hole four as per google earth:

Teepad to basket: 689'
Teepad to last parking spot on left: 435'
Teepad to treeline: 560'
Teepad to trunk of cedar on left: 520'
Teepad to short pin: 530'

I'm still going to take my wheel out. Something still seems a bit fishy.

You're lucky, it's a pain the ass to try to throw from there anyhow. Leaves nothing by an awkward overhand shot or blind forehand roller of some sort.

I agree. I seem to throw awfully far on that hole according to the tee sign. I was just past the big cedar on the left.

That explains my confusion, anyway. I don't think I've ever noticed, or played from, the long one. According to GE, it's about 90 feet back of the short one.

I am sure this is it... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vtUt_DIvoh8
The first hole is the hole we are talking about... 90-100 feet seems right for teepad to teepad.... now Chandler's drive looks to be in the 400-450 range, Rico's was about 425... If Chandler's drive was 450, his 2nd throw looks like 150-200... 689 is another extra 40-50 feet if he tossed 450 then 200... I throw a nice annny like Mccabe and my 2nd shot will get in less than 50 feet and I can't connect a 300 anny with 350 anny or hyzer depending on placement... so I think 580-600 seems more realistic, butttt then again roll the wheel mr Gwillim and let's see what that says...
If i am wrong on anything I just said, forgive me...
